screenhunter_13_oct._17_00.42_150HOW THE ISRAELI LOBBY CONTROLS US

IN the early 1960s, Sen. William J. Fulbright fought to force the American Zionist Council to register as agents of a foreign government. The council eluded registration by reorganizing as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. AIPAC has since become what Fulbright most feared: A foreign agent dominating American foreign policy while disguised as a domestic lobby.

Israelis and pro-Israelis object when they hear that charge. How, they ask, can we so few wield such influence over so many? Answer: It’s all in the math. And in the single-issue advocacy brought to bear on US policy-making by dozens of “domestic” organizations that now compose the Israel lobby, with AIPAC its most visible force.

The political math was enabled by Sen. John McCain whose support for all things Israeli ensured him the GOP nomination to succeed George W. Bush. McCain’s style of campaign finance reform proved a perfect fit for the Diaspora-based fundraising on which the lobby relies. Co-sponsored by Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, this change in federal election law typifies how Israeli influence became systemic.

Israeli Masters Make America Dance“McCain-Feingold” raised the amount (from $1,000 to $2,300) that candidates can receive from individuals in primary and general elections. A couple can now contribute a combined $9,200 to federal candidates: $4,600 in each of the primary and general elections. Primary elections, usually low-budget, are particularly easy to sway.

Importantly for the Diaspora, this change also doubled the funds candidates can receive without regard to where those contributors reside. A candidate in Iowa, say, may have only a few pro-Israeli constituents. When campaign support is provided by a nationwide network of pro-Israelis, that candidate can more easily be persuaded to support policies sought by Tel Aviv. Diaspora-based fundraising has long been used by the lobby with force-multiplying success to shape US foreign policy. Under the guise of reform, John McCain doubled the financial resources that the lobby can deploy to elect and retain its supporters.

Fulbright was Right. The influence-peddling process works like this. Candidates are summoned for in-depth AIPAC interviews. Those found sufficiently committed to Israel’s agenda are provided a list of donors likely to “max out” their campaign contributions. Or the process can be made even easier when AIPAC-approved candidates are given the name of a “bundler.”

Bundlers raise funds from the Diaspora and bundle those contributions to present them to the candidate. No quid pro quo need be mentioned. After McCain-Feingold became law in 2003, AIPAC-identified bundlers could raise $1 million-plus for AIPAC-approved candidates simply by contacting 10 like-minded supporters. Here’s the math:

The bundler and spouse “max out” for $9,200 and call 10 others, say in Manhattan, Miami, and Beverly Hills. Each of them max out ($10 x $9,200) and call 10 others for a total of 11. (111 x $9,200 = $1,021,200.)

Imagine the incentive to do well in the AIPAC interview. One call from the lobby and a candidate can collect enough cash to mount a credible campaign in most congressional districts. From Tel Aviv’s perspective, that political leverage is leveraged yet again because fewer than 10 percent of the 435 House races are competitive in any election cycle (typically 35 to 50).

Additional force-multipliers come from: (a) sustaining this financial focus over multiple cycles, (b) using funds to gain and retain seniority for those serving on congressional committees key to promoting Israeli goals, and (c) opposing any candidates who question those goals.

“Jewish Achievement” reports that 42 percent of the largest political donors to the 2000 election cycle were Jewish, including four of the top five. That compares to less than two percent of Americans who are Jewish. Of the Forbes 400 richest Americans, 25 percent are Jewish according to Michael Steinhardt, a key funder of the Democratic Leadership Council. The DLC was led by Jewish Zionist Sen. Joe Lieberman when he resigned in 2000 to run as vice president with pro-Israeli presidential candidate Al Gore.

Money was never a constraint. Pro-Israeli donors were limited only by how much they could lawfully contribute to AIPAC-screened candidates. McCain-Feingold raised a key limit. The full impact of this foreign influence has yet to be tallied. What’s known, however, is sufficient to apply the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Of the top 50 neoconservatives who advocated war in Iraq, 26 were Jewish (52 percent).

Harry Truman, a Christian Zionist, remains one of the more notable recipients of funds. In 1948, he was trailing badly in the polls and in fundraising. His prospects brightened dramatically in May after he recognized as a legitimate state an enclave of Jewish extremists who originally planned to settle in Argentina before putting their sights on Palestine.

Buy the Book on Amazon by Jeff Gates: Guilt by AssociationThat recognition was opposed by Secretary of State George C. Marshall, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the bulk of the diplomatic corps, the fledgling Central Intelligence Agency and numerous distinguished Americans, including moderate and secular Jews concerned at the troubles that were certain to follow. Not until 1984 was it revealed that a network of Jewish Zionists had funded Truman’s campaign by financially refueling his whistle-stop campaign train with $400,000 in cash ($3 million in 2009).

To buy time on the public’s airwaves, money raised from the Israel lobby’s network is paid to media outlets largely owned or managed by members of the same network. Presidents, senators and congressmen come and go but those who collect the checks rack up the favors that amass lasting political influence.

The US system of government is meant to ensure that members of the House represent the concerns of Americans who reside in congressional districts — not a nationally dispersed network (a Diaspora) committed to advancing the agenda of a foreign nation. Federal elections are meant to hold senators accountable to constituents who reside in the states they represent, not out-of-state residents or a foreign government.

In practical effect, McCain-Feingold hastened a retreat from representative government by granting a nationwide network of foreign agents disproportionate influence over elections in every state and congressional district. Campaign finance “reform” enabled this network to amass even more political clout — wielding influence disproportionate to their numbers, indifferent to their place of residence and often contrary to America’s interests.

Jeff GatesThis force-multiplier is now wielded in plain sight, with impunity and under cover of free speech, free elections, free press and even the freedom of religion. Therein lies the perils of an entangled alliance that induced the US to invade Iraq and now seeks war with Iran. By allowing foreign agents to operate as a domestic lobby, the US was induced to confuse Zionist interests with its own.

I strongly urge everyone to read this article by Diana West. Iraq will never be a so called “Bastion of Democracy” after the departure of US Forces. Iraq is already in bed with the Islamic world that is intent in the establishment of a World Wide Caliphate as demonstrated by her close relationship with Iran and her votes in the UN and elsewhere.

We must face stop blinding ourselves to this truth. If the Islamic Chairman Obama continues to withdraw from Iraq and follows through with the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan in 18 months we will in fact surrender the Middle east to Radical Islam and the Caliphate.

Our only recourse is to maintain substantial forces in both countries for a long period of time or face a greater war with Islam, that will most defiantly include sabotage attacks in America, England, Europe, Australia, etc by the Islamic 5th Columns that have already established themselves in these nations. The Big Question here is what of Russia and China when this occurs?? I have no answer except that like the Korean War and the Vietnam War they will supply the enemy with arms and support.

This is a Dark Future for America and the World but one we must face up to and take action to thwart today, worse still is that the Obamanation Administration and the Marxist Controlled Congress will not act do to their desire to convert America into the USSR of America – who’s side are they on? ? ?

It is interesting that those who attack Jeff Gates do so by attacking him personally rather than by responding to the facts and research he has provided. Melbfreaky’s juvenile comments can only result in blowback for him.

They are unable to do so and resort to the worn-out attempts to intimidate by calling him or anyone else who criticizes Israel or the Israel lobby as being anti-Semitic. That doesn’t work anymore.

As for Israel’s fear of its neighbors, it is quite the reverse. Nearly every war in the Middle East, including the 1948 war was initiated by Israeli attacks intended to steal more land. The bombardment and devastation of Gaza followed Israel’s full breach of its June 19, 2009 truce with Hamas; Hamas complied as is evidenced by Israel’s own intelligence reports; Israel did not.

In a joint study by Tel Aviv University and a European University, it was Israel who breached 79 percent of ceasefire agreements.

Just don’t understand all the anti-semitism right now on this site. The attack on the USS LIBERTY was a travisty, and justice needs to be served, but when the US Navy tells sailors to keep quite about the incident, and the records of Board of inquiry are not available, and when the CIC at that time orders the return of American jets back to their carrier while the attack still continues leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

I do know this. Israel is not going on bended knee to Obama to seek permission to go after Iran’ attempt to make Israel into a parking lot. I would not be a bit surprised if the new bunker bombs are already in Israel’s arsenal.

While we are playing with this, we are also becoming increasingly dependent on Iran to act in concert with Pakistan as broker for peace in Afghanistan.

Maybe its time as a people in a whole to step back, re-evaluate and look at personal and national core beliefs and values, come together and make a decision on the current principal: “How would you like to be treated?” (Could it be that easy?)

Sounds like some politicians and leaders are capable of becoming cancerous and in the way of healthy growth and development of the people in the world in general. Sounds like some drastic surgery would help in the form of truly informed and empowered voters.

    Thanks for the informative report.

I am a Vietnam combat veteran. That experience made in clear to me that to have peace, you must treat each individual with individual justice. To me, this includes individuals of the Jewish community.
However, there are ancient negative stereotypes of the Jewish community which are inclusive of reactionary, collusive, and subversive ethnocentrism and the extreme and unreasonable intolerance of, oppression of, and discrimination against any individual and/or groups who opposes their individual and/or ethnic agenda and/or goals.
The circumstances surrounding the current economic tragedy that the USA and other nations are facing together with the current illegal, aggressive, and criminal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq tend to corroborate these negative stereotypes.
Our duty as American citizens is to treat every individual with individual justice (inclusive of Jews). However, our duty as American citizens, as the author of the original article states, is to bring justice to those individuals and associations which demonstrate a clear and present danger to the same. To do otherwise is to invite that revolution, persecution, and war which may, in the long run, result in another in a long series of pogroms against the Jewish community.
My father and his two brothers served in W.W. II. My father served as a Lieutenant in the US Army Infantry in the European theatre and was severely wounded in action at Casino, Italy but survived the war.

Thanks for your service – and that of your family. Unfortunately, a “consensus” emerged from academia that led us to agree that financial freedom is a proxy for personal freedom. Chapter 6 in Guilt By Association explains the fundamentals of finance to show that widely shared belief was certain to do just what it’s done: concentrate wealth and income at record rates, ensuring the creation of oligarchies worldwide and thereby undermining both democracies and markets — all in the name of freedom. Here’s an excerpt titled
Market Theory versus Financial Reality —

Regardless of the label put on “economics,” broad-based purchasing power (demand) remains essential for healthy markets, just as broad-based ownership remains indispensable for healthy democracies. By embracing a closed system of finance certain to concentrate both wealth and income, democracies are endangered and markets undermined. That’s how the “Washington” consensus—with its roots in “Chicago” economics—put the health of communities worldwide at risk even as people sought to recover from the perils of state ownership that accompanied their belief in an earlier version of “economics.”

It is simply not credible to suggest that financial sophisticates failed to grasp the results certain to accompany these closed system dynamics. Nor is it plausible to propose that banks and investment banks failed to comprehend the foreseeable impact of supply-side economics. For example, Reagan Treasury Secretary Don Regan was chief executive of Merrill Lynch before he led the advocacy team for Reaganomics.

As this closed system became the global norm behind a façade of privatization, LBOs expanded in size and geographic reach, and oligarchs emerged worldwide. By charging a 2% management fee and pocketing 20% of any increase in value, private equity and hedge fund managers, along with bank operatives (such as Citigroup CEO Sanford Weill), joined the ranks of the super-rich. The closest analogy to this financial phenomenon is the casino skim.

The foreseeable trends now expanding rapidly to global scale include:

      • As referenced earlier, the wealth of the Forbes 400 richest Americans grew by $290 billion in 2006 alone, for a combined wealth of $1.54 trillion in 2007.
      • By 2008 the minimum personal wealth for inclusion on the Forbes list was $1.3 billion, up form $91 million in 1982.
      • The average CEO of a large U.S. company was paid $10.8 million in 2006 —364 times the pay of one of their employees, or as much pay each day as an employee takes home in a year.

The merger of finance and politics continues to gain momentum. In April 2008, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), a private equity firm, announced that Ken Mehlman, former chairman of the Republican National Committee, had become head of global public affairs, a new position for a firm that has completed more than $400 billion in LBOs. Manager of G.W. Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign, Mehlman now serves as one of John McCain’s top fundraisers in the financial sector.

Only as this account was nearing completion did it become clear what agenda the private equity firms meant to pursue through Mehlman’s political connections. In this latest pump-and-dump, the major firms are prepared to exploit the desperation of ailing banks and concerned regulators by investing huge amounts in the nation’s largest banks. Before doing so, however, they want legislative and regulatory exemptions from rules designed to prevent conflicts of interest and the abuses known to accompany such concentrations of economic power.

As record-breaking public-sector debt was incurred to fund record-breaking accumulations of private-sector wealth, a crisis in infrastructure emerged nationwide as roads, bridges, schools, water treatment and such suffered from financial neglect. With the American Society of Civil Engineers estimating $1.6 trillion needed over the next five years, KKR, Lehman Brothers and other top-tier private equity firms are prepared to profit from the crisis.

As the rich grew vastly richer and the people in between skimmed hundreds of billions of dollars, household income stagnated. For the bulk of Americans, weekly earnings in 2007 were the same as in 2000—despite an 18% growth in productivity. Americans work two weeks longer each year than they did in the 1970s, and 350 hours longer per year than Europeans. The income of men in their 30s is 12% lower than it was three decades ago. Households led by someone 65 or under made an average 3.4 percent less in 2007 than in 2000.

  10. Luther  October 17, 2009 at 4:33 pm

There a couple of things concerning this discourse:

    1) If you are a Christian, you must believe in the Hebrew (Jewish)
Messiah – fact! That doesn’t mean grovel, and it doesn’t mean capitulate; but, it does mean acceptance of the Jews being God’s chosen people: Not for salvation, per se; but for maintaining
Holy Writ, Lineage, and producing the Messiah! All of which they
    have done.

    2) If the foregoing doesn’t apply to you, from whence do you
draw your under-pinnings? Islam? Like our current President?
Or some other ecclesiastical organization that proclaims doctrines
and dogmas which are anathema to Holy Writ! Catholicism comes
    to mind, among others.

In this case, I think too many people are so heavenly minded,
they are of no earthly good! Pseudo-intellects!

    • Jeff Gates  October 17, 2009 at 9:58 pm

This is a great example of how people defer to faith to make “arguments” rather than support them with facts. At the core of this the systemic duplicity chronicled in these accounts lies those who are masterful at displacing facts with what “the mark” can be deceived to believe.

Why my beliefs have anything to do with the facts? Don’t facts remain facts regardless of what I may or may not believe? Great example of how we got ourselves into this mess in the Middle East through an entangled alliance with a theocratic state.

  11. Tom Barnes  October 17, 2009 at 4:05 pm

Guys, hold on!  This discussion is getting out of hand.

There really was a Holocaust.  Over six million Jews were deliberately exterminated in the camps precisely  because they were Jews; no other reason.  There really have been pogroms in history and Jews suffered terribly.  There really are roughly 70 million Arabs surrounding Israel that would wipe it off the map in a morning given half a chance.

Is everyone here tuned into this reality?  Do you honestly think that Israel ever existed or exists even now as a peer among these people?  Israelis are hated by their neighbors to the point of near annhilation at any given moment.  Have you all been asleep since 1948?

Now, that is not to say that Israel is blameless in the handling of the Palestinian question.  They are not blameless.  But we have to put this whole thing in proper perspective.  Israel is a nation that wakes up every morning in fear of its life.  The many small wars since 1948 between Israel and its Arab neighbors is proof of that.

As a result of all this hatred, the Palestinian people have been displaced and are without a home.  I understand that.  That situation must be resolved.  But how?

Certainly not by these kinds of attitudes from otherwise very aware people.

I certainly do not agree with everything that Israel has ever done or does now.  But that is not to say that I am going to get into the very depths of the "anti-Israeli" mashugana that is going on here.  Lets call a spade a spade here.  There is a huge anti-Israeli agenda in this string of comments.  Fine.  I can deal with that.  But lets have it above board and genuine.  No more secret conspiracy theory goofiness about Israel, who founded it or what its aims are.

Israel was allowed to be born on a United Nations vote to allow the Jews to have their own homeland after six million of them were exterminated in camps.  I am quite sure that the UN never expected the Middle Eastern inter-necine warfare that grew out of this to cover a period of over sixty years.

This sort of anti-Israeli vituperation is incredible.  Enough already.  Lets be sensible.  Israel exists because it must exist if the Jews are to survive as a viable religion or culture attached to a viable ancestral homeland deemed to be their’s by a world governing power with the authority to do so.  To see this any other way is to deny history.

Are the Israelis always right? No.  Have the Palestinians been mistreated?  Yes, even Israeli soldiers have been telling us this for decades.  This is no secret in Israel.

So what is the overall point here?  I am finding it hard to separate this string of comments from blatant anti-Jewish belief systems.

    • Jeff Gates  October 17, 2009 at 9:52 pm

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.

The history of Israel both before and since its founding is not well reflected in your post. I recommend Alan Hart’s first book in a series aptly titled “Zionism — The Real Enemy of the Jews.” And also pick up Guilt By Association (online) and see if, after reading it, you agree that Israel is the hapless victim or is it a serial agent provocateur that deploys well-time crises to advance an expansionist agenda.

There’s a sample chapter on the Criminal State website that covers the 1967 war that is illustrative of the duplicity deployed both in the founding of this “state” and its behavior since.

Do any veterans know that a former Irgun operative was servicing our Commander-in-Chief in the White House the night the Six-Day War broke out — and that her husband was then the largest fundraiser for the political party that Lyndon Johnson then headed. Why don’t we know that? How many people know that? Why don’t they know?

Is it true that public relations specialist Ed Gottlieb hired Leon Uris to write Exodus, a romanticized version of the ethnic cleansing that brought this state into being?

While I appreciate the comment, I fear that you may have been beguiled by the storyline created around the Promised Land, the Homeland, the ancestral home of the Israelites (most of whom hail from Eastern Europe) and so forth. It’s an alluring story. Even now people forget that Exodus was a novel.

Search online for my name and “American Intifada” and you’ll see what the Joint Chiefs advised Truman in 1948, including a warning about the fact that Zionist lobbyists were lying to Truman about their true intentions as fanatics intent on taking over the entirely of Palestine as part of their determination to establish “Jewish military and economic hegemony over the entire Middle East.” Here’s the Joint Chief’s closing assessment:

“All stages of this program are equally sacred to the fanatical concepts of the Jewish leaders. The program is openly admitted by some leaders, and has been privately admitted to United States officials by responsible leaders of the presently dominant Jewish group-The Jewish agency.”

I share your concern that the broader Jewish community be distinguished from the extremists whose behavior is being chronicled in these op-eds. In no way should the moderate, secular and anti-Zionist members of this community be portrayed as…guilty by association. But nor should those complicit fail to be held accountable.

    • Mel Rockefeller  October 17, 2009 at 10:01 pm

Mr. Barnes why is when people cannot deal with the facts the “holocaust” is raised to silence dissent. Your arguments fail to factually refute what the Israelis have in fact done with the trust of our nation and world. You either don’t know what your talking about or are incapable of dealing with the facts full stop.

My late advisor Dr. Glenn A. Olds served four presidents and was the man behind the policy that got our nation out of Vietnam. 1998 he asked me to travel to Portland Oregon, his summer home, to ask me two questions. The first question did I believe Bill Clinton committed treason when he reorganized his Cabinet after his first two years in office – loading it with pro Israelis. Dr. Olds had been asked by Bill Clinton to re-organize his Cabinet and declined. My response to his question was Bill Clinton betrays himself every day he puts his pants on. His ability to commit treason based on his needs could never be proven.

The second question was did the Jewish Elite have a hand in the Holocaust? I responded with a question. Would Harry Truman have been able to override George Marshall’s opposition recognizing Israel without the Holocaust? You are well beyond your pay grade if you don’t have the facts as to who was in fact behind Hitler or the lawsuits over the past 10 years in Israel that provided the discovery proving the Zionists knew of the camps and were behind the allies not bombing them. Why? The more Jews that died the higher the probability the State of Israel could be created. The interests of the Zionists have never been consistent with those of the broader based Jewish Community.

Israel is our enemy full stop. I took more than 30 years segregating those within the Jewish Community used to stalk me from those simply living their lives with 8 people close to me dead, the last a ten year old child! Anyone defending Israel in any form or manner fails to comprehend the threat to our National Security the US/Israeli entanglement has imposed on our nation, Jewish Community and World at large. I have first hand facts that prove beyond a reasonable doubt Israel was behind 911 and the Intelligence failures pre and post 911.

As for beliefs – I respect all but don’t bring them to a debate on matters related to National Security with me. I was in Iraq in 1997. Met with Saddam’s physicist who ran his industrial complex pre Gulf War, Dr. Nadal Hamdani, and returned with a plan to move Saddam out over a ten year period. The Extremist Jews – Pro Israeli Jews controlling our government made sure no one met with me. I met Jeff Gates in London 2002. If we had met when Dr. Olds and I met Dr. Olds believed we would have stopped 911. I am not sure he was right based on how stupid and dumbed down the American Public is at this point. Dr. Olds backed my mission to Iraq in 1997. Oh and the Secretary of State under Clinton, Ms. Albright, would not meet with me even though I should have been arrested for defying the ban to visit Iraq. Dr. Olds met Ms. Albright when she was 15 helping her off a train in Denver when her family – the Korbel family – arrived in Denver from the Communist East block. After Albright refused to meet with me I went to Canada where Prime Minister Chretien had me meet with the Iraq specialists including his legal counsel. I knew the day would come we would have to be able to prove the depth of the treason our nation has been subjected to by the Criminal State of Israel and their agents in our government.

Get the facts or get a life but people like you who think Israel or any of our pro Israeli leaders can be defended in any for or manner are traitors full stop! Bring your facts and set the time and place I will bring mine!

      Best personal regards,

      Mel Rockefeller

Go back and read over your comments attached to my comments here.  The anti-Israeli poison is dripping off your comments.  That is not reason or debate or anything else of the sort.  It is hatred.  That much is obvious.  Why?

What is behind all this anti-Israeli stuff?  And by the way, how can ANY of us verify the comments you have just made of Israeli agents sleeping with Presidents, of Clinton allowing a super pro-Israeli agenda to poison his cabinet, etc.  This is all conspiracy theory stuff that none of us have ever heard about and none of us can prove.

You guys are conspiracy theorists.  That is not scholarship.  Certainly you know this!

What is going on here?  What is behind all this anti-Israeli stuff?

You need to come clean.  What are your motivations in writing this stuff?

I don’t get it. How can you choose not to review the available facts and simultaneously suggest that the facts do not support what is charged? What am I missing here?

Again, I suggest you read Guilt By Association with its 80 pages of endnotes. Then wade in with documented facts rather than ill-informed beliefs, consensus opinions and yet another rendition of generally accepted truths.

If you can’t deal with confirmed facts, that’s fine. Rest assured you are in distinguished company. You can count yourself allied with many of those failed in their duty when they took an oath to defend this nation based on facts (and the rule of law) rather than what they choose to believe is true.

That, in a nutshell, is how our national security was hollowed out–from within.

The book titled The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy is the title of a book by John Mearsheimer, Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, and Stephen Walt, Professor of International Relations at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. It’s a vital read for the American public.

Please read this compelling information from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Israel_Lobby_and_U.S._Foreign_Policy

” According to Mearsheimer and Walt, the “loose coalition” that makes up the Lobby has “significant leverage over the Executive branch,” as well as the ability to make sure that the “Lobby’s perspective on Israel is widely reflected in the mainstream media.” They claim that AIPAC in particular has a “stranglehold on the U.S. Congress,” due to its “ability to reward legislators and congressional candidates who support its agenda, and to punish those who challenge it.”

The authors conclude by arguing that when the Lobby succeeds in shaping U.S. policy in the Middle East, then “Israel’s enemies get weakened or overthrown, Israel gets a free hand with the Palestinians, and the United States does most of the fighting, dying, rebuilding, and paying.”

Thanks for your comment. The Mearsheimer/Walt book marks a turning point in the capacity and willingness of professionals to speak out on the influence of a transnational, trans-generational operation that Senator J. William Fulbright, as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, sought to force to register as what it is: a foreign agent. He failed in that task.

What condition would the U.S. be in today if: (a) Fulbright and Attorney General Robert Kennedy has succeeded in their attempt to force registration, and/or (b) President John F. Kennedy had forced Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to permit what the Israel’s now demand for Iran: international inspection of its nuclear facilities?

By 1973, Senator Fulbright was sufficiently confident of the force that this network exerts in U.S. politics to say, “Israel controls the U.S. Senate.” By 1974, he was out of the Senate. For some indication of what has happened in the past 35 years, read “The Israel Lobby” as a primer but also read Grant Smith’s “Foreign Agents.” For reasons that are best left to Professors Mearsheimer and Walt to explain, they compare the lobby to a conventional domestic lobby, such as the dairy lobby. The facts suggest that analogy misses the point.

To get the point, read “Guilt By Association: How Deception and Self-Deceit Took America to War.” The impact of this entangled alliance has been disastrous for the U.S., imposing on us untold costs in blood, treasure and the loss of hard-earned credibility and goodwill — particularly in a region essential to our national interests. That’s a fact. Uncomfortable perhaps but nevertheless a fact. This “special relationship” has been a quagmire from the outset. It’s only gotten worse. And it’s poised to impose on us even more costs.

The issue that might usefully be debated is this: was that result intended? Is this HOW warfare is waged in the Information Age? Scan the op-eds on the Criminal State website, get informed and share your assessment with those who have line responsibility for national security. At what point does the constitutional oath of office require that those in uniform defend this nation rather than continue to obscure the common source of this threat?

I cannot recommend the following newly released book enough:

The Invention of the Jewish People by Shlomo Sand

    It says everything.

As the saying goes in politics, how do you “advance the narrative”?

The beguiling narrative of the Promised Land was founded in deceit and advances by duplicity.

On that point, search for “American Intifada” along with my name for a commentary on Exodus and the origins of a blockbuster movie that early on won the hearts of minds of naive Americans. Author Leon Uris was reportedly commissioned by public relations executive Ed Gottlieb to “rebrand” this terrorist enclave with a best-selling novel.

Keep in mind that Albert Einstein and other prominent Jews cautioned us in 1948 that those terrorists behind the founding of this “state” were “fascists” in the worst sense of the term, including their ethnic cleansing of 400-plus Palestinian villages. That warning quickly faded from memory with the Hollywood premiere of a love story starring Paul Newman, Eva St. Marie and the heart throb Italian crooner Sal Mineo playing an emigre.

Then, as now, those supportive of this extremist enclave have proven masterful as displacing facts with fiction.

Thanks for your comment and the link.

    Excellent article.

The power the Israeli lobby has in the USA is amazing. Most Americans have never heard of AIPAC and are befuddled by the term “Israeli Lobby.” They are also befuddled by the term Zionist. The Zionist controlled media keeps everything quiet. The obvious connections of Israel’s Mossad and 911 are not mentioned.

Perle, Wolfowitz and Feith, are all Jewish Zionists from the Pentagon and were major factors in instigating the Iraq war. They are not known by most Americans due to the control of the Zionist media. When the media finally mentioned that “Neocons” were involved they failed to mention that most of the main Neocons are Jewish Americans devoted to Israel. The Clean Break paper and PNAC, written primarily by Zionists are not mentioned.

Almost all the American congress persons and I think all of the Senate voted to approve of the slaughter of Palestinian civilians during the deranged and highly immoral Operation Cast Lead done by Israel. Why? The power and campaign contributions of the Israeli Lobby.

Israel wants us to bomb Iran. The Zionist media demonizes Iran even thought they have not initiated a war for hundreds of years. They claim thousands. The head of the IAEA recently claimed there is no evidence Iran has a nuclear weapons program. The Zionist media is portraying Iran as very dangerous and preparing Americans for another war.

This control of America’s media and politicians by a small country is stunning. An amazing accomplishment.

Thanks for your comment. The dominance of this undisclosed bias in mainstream media imperils not only the U.S. but other nations as well. That includes those who joined the U.S. in the “coalition of the willing” to invade Iraq based on fixed intelligence that traces to pro-Israeli sources. Few people realize the dominance that Conrad Black (and Hollinger International) exerted over media in Canada and the U.K. in the run-up to war — with Richard Perle and Henry Kissinger on the board. Add to that Rupert Murdoch’s influence and the ability to displace facts with fictions was a wonder to behold. Canada’s Asper clan has since taken over that fact-displacing operation now that Black is in jail for financial fraud. Haim Saban acquired Germany’s second largest media conglomerate (ProSiebenSat1) in 2003 to help position Angela Merkel for office in 2005. She’s since become a reliable voice for Tel Aviv. Saban then focused on gaining control of Univision, the most-watched network by the fastest-growing voting bloc in the U.S. (Latinos). Now he’s announced a second bid for Aljazeera, advised by Bill Clinton whose presidency was in substantial part a product of the same Zionist network that produced the Obama phenomenon. Those skilled at this duplicity are not bipartisan but trans-partisan. They could care less which party advances this agenda. That’s why you see so little change from one party to the next—as though changing presidents was really going to make any difference to a network that has long worked inside both parties.

Defense Secretary Gates coined an apt phrase for how this systemic treason progresses in plain sight when he described the most problematic combatants in unconventional warfare as “the people in between.” Between a public and the facts required for informed consent is a trans-generational network of trans-partisan operatives who shape the information around a predetermined agenda. That agenda could never be brought to a vote because few would support it. Thus the need for systemic deceit, as with the fixed intelligence that took us to war — consistent with Tel Aviv’s agenda for Greater Israel.

Thus the challenge in enabling “the mark” (a long-deceived public) to identify the common source of this ongoing fraud. Who now dominating those in-between realms is going to concede it? CNN’s Wolf Blitzer? How many Americans realize that he served 17 years with the Jerusalem Post (a Hollinger publication) and as a former editor of Near East Report, an in-house journal of the Israel Lobby? Note how he broadcasts from “The Situation Room” — subliminally associating himself with officialdom while announcing several times each hour that you are watching “the most trusted name in news.” CNN’s John King now announces from a television set called “the State of the Union.” This is how warfare is waged in the Information Age. Why would anyone expect it to be otherwise?

See the analyses on the Criminal State website and/or search online for my name and “Israel’s Fifth Column” (on Wolf Blitzer) — and “The New Heretics” (on Haim Saban.

Thanks for your comment. Please urge that your colleagues read Guilt By Association where this fact-displacing modus operandi is explained.

Once “the mark” grasps HOW this duplicity progresses in plain sight, the public (both here and abroad) will see for themselves who and why. That’s when accountability can commence — including recovering our airwaves from this transnational criminal syndicate.

That transparency will also begin the process of recovering from what this has cost us in blood and treasure. And what this will continue to cost us if we do not quickly coalesce around making the common source of this deception transparent, including those “assets” in the Congress and the Executive Branch who continue to enable this ongoing treason.

This gets very, very sticky because it is impossible to separate anti-Zionism from anti-Semitism in any practical sense.

Yes, there are ultra-Orthodox Jews who see Zionism as a threat to world Jewry and yes, Judaism is not a monolithic one-view-point ideology, anymore than Catholicism is. But there are major themes that run through Judaism (or any other religion).  The major one in Judaism after 1939 is without a doubt survival.  There is no sense in protecting Israel if there are no Jews to protect.

Those of us who are not Jewish can wax on and on about "the Jews do this…." and "the Jews do that…." and "the Jews control so much of American media, entertainment, etc. etc….."  because we are not in any danger of any sort of pogrom.  Very few of us have any ancestral history of mass extermination by the millions by a demonic adversary bent on the complete annhilation of our bloodline.

    That changes a groups’ perspective.

Do Jews in the USA wield power over our society and social mores way out of line with their numbers?  That of course is a matter of opinion and would probably be damned near impossible to statistically demonstrate.  But it is a fair question and one that keeps popping up all over the place since anti-Semitism seems to be a common factor in the Western World.

So what do we do?  Well, we have to look at the same measures we apply to other groups of people to judge whether or not Jewish domination of American culture and power centers exists.  So questions need to be asked.

Are Jews more prone to White House or Congressional or Judicial access than other Americans?  I think the answer would have to be no.

Are Jews more prone to military or economic or social influence in the USA than other groups relative to their numbers in the general population?  In other words are there more Jewish admirals and generals and Congressman and Senators and judges than their numbers would imply?  I think the answer would have to be no.

Are there more Jews "running" major corporations and colleges and universities and law schools and medical schools and hospitals and banks and think tanks and government agencies than their numbers would imply as statistically normal?  I think that the answer would have to be no.

So what we are really talking about is an individual’s perspective of the threat that Jews in particular and the "Jewish lobby" specifically are a threat to the American government and the American way of life.

Now understand me. I am no idiot.  Jews are not stupid people. They understand that based on their history over the last few thousand years, they must caste a jaundiced eye on authority of any type.  ANY type. So they work very hard on every level to have their voices heard in the US government especially relative to policy and most especically when it impinges on Israel.

It is no mystery that moderate and educated Jews in Israel are among the chief supporters of Palestinian rights and the foundation of a Palestinian State.  These Jews, more than any other group, understand the abuse of power. The Israeli media is much, much more open to reporting the abuses of Israeli soldiers within Gaza then our media is.  That alone should tell you something.

Jews in the USA and in the world completely understand that government favor toward any group of people is a matter of public policy, not often open to reason and usually open to group hatred.  They cannot afford another pogrom as happened in Europe.

    They want to survive.

That is the bottom line here.

As a Jewish American, and a veteran I find Mr. Gates perspective to be bordering on anti semetic….Mr. gates while I honor your service as a fellow combat veteran however….I couldn’t disagree with you more. As a jew, AND as an American I have wittnessed what this kind of mind set does to people who believe this kind of (dare I say) neo nazi drivel. and I find it to be entirely offensive. Mr Gates thank you for showing your “true colors”. And what I disturbing is that there are so many writers on this site that lean so far to the left. As a veteran of the Gulf War and OIF I can say personally they don’t represent my views.

    • Jeff Gates  October 19, 2009 at 9:40 pm

      Mr. Bons —

I am an anti-anti-semite. Some of the strongest supporters have been moderate Jews thrilled that finally an analysis is in print that separates the extremists who have long posed such a problem for the broader Jewish community by making them appear…guilty by association.

Suggest you read Guilt By Association as it makes those key distinctions while also pinpointing HOW these extremists induced us to war in Iraq with false, flawed and fixed intelligence. The back cover promises to make treason transparent. I would value your appraisal of that claim AFTER you read the book. What happens when Americans awaken to the fact that our blood and treasure are being expended in the Middle East for the expansionist policies of Greater Israel?

Excerpts are posted on http://www.criminalstate.com along with numerous analyses.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Is the Lobby overly agressive in affecting American foreign policy? Yes. Monolithic? No.

McCain/Feingold raised the amount of individual contributions that had not been raised for some time, and it was a political compromise to get the weakend reform bill through.

Calling Israel our "masters" is way off. The inverse is not true, but closer to the truth.

When you begin to tally who is "Jewish" and who is not in the US, you veer into territory best left unchartered.

Most of American Jewry by the way supports a two-state solution, in accordance with the world concensus.

If you want to actually gauge Jewish-Ameircan opinion – an almost impossible task – I think you can get a better understanding by reading J-Street. see:
    http://www.jstreet.org/’ defer=’defer [www.jstreet.org]

    • Jeff Gates  October 17, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Of course the lobby is not monolithic; it’s broadly dispersed. That’s the point. And coordinated around a shared bias and, for the more extreme/fanatical in this transnational network, around a shared “covenant” to put the interests of this expansionist enclave above all other interests, including those of the U.S. To the great disadvantage of the broader community, this fanaticism is labeled “Jewish”–despited no resemblance to the value of that tradition.

On that point, I urge that you read “The New Anti-Semitism” chapter in Guilt By Association, the first release in the Criminal Stare series. The math by which The Israel Lobby took control of U.S. foreign policy is posted on the Criminal State website in the introduction.

If you don’t like the website editor’s choice of title (“masters”), I suggest you search online for my name and Israel Lobby for assorted other titles. To suggest that Israel is our agent (instead of vice versa) flies in the face of confirmed facts. The non-transparent (and nonlinear) force-multiplier modus operandi by which this extremist influence is wielded is described in the online op-eds and in Guilt By Association.

Secular, moderate and anti-Zionist Jews are among the many fans of these (suppressed) facts and (unreported) analyses. Why? Because this “fills in the blanks” in their understanding of how fanatics in the broader community displace the facts essential for informed choice and insert in their place manipulated beliefs — such as those that took the U.S. to war in the Middle East. Remember Iraqi WMD, ties to Al Qaeda, meetings in Prague, yellowcake uranium from Niger, mobile biological weapons laboratories? All traceable to pro-Israeli sources. Or to assets (such as Ahmed Chalabi) developed by those sources.

Sorry about those facts. And the fact that this duplicity has been so consistent for more than six decades. Then again, if your numbers are few and your geopolitical ambitions large, how else can you wage war except (as with your comment) by way of deception? The only modern component of this ancient modus operandi is the modern means to deceive on a global scale.

J Street? So now we’ve a “progressive” face on the same agenda? How is that an improvement? Americans are not dumb — just woefully ill-informed. Is J Street informing Americans about the common source (and shared motivation) for the fixed intelligence that took the U.S. to war? If not, why not?

By volunteering this disinformation, it appears that you are in the ranks of those who would sustain this deceit. On that point, I suggest you search online for a review of Guilt By Association by Ken Freeland that suggests the analysis in that book delivers on its promise to make treason transparent. Doubtless the veterans who put themselves in harm’s way to defend this nation and its values will be interested in identifying the source of this duplicity. Perhaps you might share that with them in your next comment.

      Thanks for your thoughts.
