RAND CLIFFORD : The Bull

In the 1933 Paramount motion picture Tillie and Gus, W.C. Fields said:

“There comes a time in the affairs of men, when we must take the bull by the tail, and face the situation.”

The term “motion pictures” is rather archaic nowadays, but there’s nothing archaic about W.C.’s insightful wisdom—almost 80 years ago spinning a clear image of precisely where we are in 2010. Indeed, ours is a confusing time of wars over fossil energy, imperialism, secrecy, disinformation, massive upward transfer of wealth, economic collapse, environmental devastation and, well, bullshit. We’ve actually been deep in the stuff since even before Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States, wrote a more sobering scenario:

“Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.”

There’s that bull again, horns and all. President Wilson also wrote:

“A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men…. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world—no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of a small group of dominant men.”

What IS History?

Many say it is more accurate to call history, “His Story.” And it’s difficult to imagine a more transparent characterization of the story than this, offered by George Orwell in his seminal novel, 1984:

“He who controls the present controls the past. He who controls the past controls the future.”

So there’s Wilson’s small group of dominant men, again. Certainly, the men change over generations, but the domination not only remains, it gets ever more ruthless, bold, pervasive and complete.

Consider the astonishing difference between the official, historical account of the assassination of President Kennedy, and what really happened; between the “official story,” and the truth. Call it gross perception management. Comparably astonishing is the difference between what really happened leading up to, and culminating on 9/11—what mountains of evidence say—compared to the official story. And what may be even more astonishing is that the dominant ones not only have the power to pull off 9/11, and the assassination of JFK and so much other subterfuge, but also the power to cover things up. The power to control the past, present, and future.

The bull is loose in our china shop… in Earth’s magnificent life-support system. Of course much of the awesome power is a direct result of an incredibly gullible, perception-managed American public that will swallow any lie as long as it’s properly packaged. A public breathless to blurt “conspiracy theory”! with little or no thought, even though it is getting difficult to identify anything of great moment that is not a conspiracy. Can you think of anything important that is free from conspiracy’s taint?

So Late in the Game

Whether we take the bull by the tail, or by the horns, we are at a critical time because that’s what we are running out of, time. Saturday, entertainer-disguised-as-newsman Glenn Beck conducted the “March On Washington” Lincoln Memorial, exactly 47 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech from the same marble steps. The “Tea Party”… partied, the most amazing corporate shills ever invented. A “grassroots” movement funded by the bull itself! People marching and protesting against their own best interests, and not even knowing it. Wow. Certainly those at the top know, but how many of the masses have any idea that the Tea Party is actually just the latest chimera largely funded “indirectly” by the billionaire Koch brothers? And with classic GOP vacancy, Michele Bachmann, a republican representative from Minnesota bellowed: “We are not going to let anyone get away with saying there were less than a million here today—because we were witnesses.” So, what are you going to do, Michele, force anyone who says there were less than a million attendees to drink a quart of castor oil? And about the “…overwhelmingly white crowd,” partier estimates of its size vary between “…300,000 and 500,000,” to the million witnessed by Representative Bachmann. Meanwhile, aerial photography “pegged” attendance at 87,000. Apparently the Tea Party is not as good at counting as they are with castor oil and corporate shilling.

So I must be a democrat? Not a chance, republicans and democrats are simply 2 sides of the same coin, 2 different acts of the same sorry play—a play designed to keep the public bickering about such things as mosques 2 blocks from “ground zero”, or returning God to America, ensuring that all of our genuine problems remain unaddressed. Flip the coin, it matters little which side comes up. We don’t need democrats and republicans, we need a new coin….

Corporate power has spent vast sums to get the people all frothy about “creeping socialism” and Obama’s socialism when in fact fascism seems to be America’s destiny and fate. Fascism and socialism could be considered exact opposites—which reinforces the reality that the American public can be convinced of virtually anything if enough moneypower is involved.

Positive signs are finally showing here and there. For instance, the latest polls reflect that roughly 86% of Americans do not believe the government is telling the truth with their “official story” of what happened on 9/11. But then again, there was Saturday’s March On Washington. Apparently, the Tea Party’s main message is: “We must restore America and restore her honor. We must turn the nation back to God and protect traditional values.” So many vagaries they use, mouthfuls of words to say nothing about the bull. However, one part of their vague and nebulous (secret?) message does have identifiable meaning: Both sides of our political coin, both acts of the play, need to go back to following the Constitution. Sounds swell, but a major problem jumps from that: The Constitution states that only congress has the right to coin and regulate the nation’s money. Whoa… what about the private corporation that in 1913 solidly embedded into its role of bleeding the nation to death with debt-money—that cabal of international financiers so misleadingly called the “Federal Reserve”, which now “…makes our money out of thin air”? Does the Tea Party support abolishing the Fed? If so, have they ever actually said so, amid their “non-political” bluster about God, soldiers, honor and values, wandering in darkness, good things we can do tomorrow, slaves to debt, prayer, and the Constitution?

President Kennedy would tell you—if the bull hadn’t gored him to death at Dealey Plaza in November of 1963—that messing with the Fed is very dangerous. He apparently had little fear of confronting the bull head-on. Not only did Kennedy deliver a speech (perhaps the fatal speech?) about ridding America of the pervasive and infective influence of “secret societies” and all of their secret and misanthropic ritual the bull is so steeped in…he confronted “the generals”, the CIA, the international capitalist cabal that actually rules America, and of course, the Federal Reserve.

JFK took the bull by the horns.

The rest is “history.”
