McDonald students help vets for holidays

Members of the McDonald High School Student Council wanted to make sure area veterans were not forgotten this holiday season and collected items for care packages being delivered for Christmas.
Students collected deodorant, tissues, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gloves, and other items for care packages for the holidays for 25 area veterans.
Claire Hoffman, a high school senior, said student council is always trying to get involved in the community.
“One of the teachers brought up the idea to help veterans and giving back, which we decided to do. It was a different project,” Hoffman said.
