NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Air National Guard says a propeller malfunctioned on one of its plane, forcing the pilot to turn around and land at an airport in Delaware.
Lt. Col. Len Gratteri says the C-130 on a training mission had taken off Tuesday from New Castle County airport where the Guard is based. He says the pilot shut down one of the plane’s engines and returned to the base just south of Wilmington. No one was injured.
Gratteri says the pilot followed protocol. Mechanics are checking the plane to see what caused the malfunction.
