Women’s Memorial Foundation hosts Forum July 19
Author and historian June Hopkins will discuss American Women — Welfare and War, 1930-1945, at the Women In Military Service For America Memorial on Wednesday, July 19 at 1:30 PM.
This stimulating discussion by one of the nation’s well-known women’s history experts brings to life 1930s and 40s America and the relationship of women to the social, political, and economic realities of the time. This special presentation is hosted by the Women’s Memorial Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service.
Dr. Hopkins is an associate professor and Interim Department Head at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA, and author of Harry Hopkins: Sudden Hero, Brash Reformer. She is a frequent speaker on various aspects of women in American society, 20th century America and the Great Depression.

The Women’s Memorial, located at the gateway to Arlington National Cemetery, is readily accessible by Metro (Blue Line) and paid parking is available.
The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is the nation’s only major memorial honoring all servicewomen, past, present and future. Featuring an exhibit gallery, theatre, Register of women who have served and a gift shop, the Memorial is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily.
