Airman plays catch with Randy Moss of the NFL Oakland Raiders

NAPA, California – Chad Peterkin and a bus load of his fellow airmen from Travis Air Force Base attended Raiders practice Tuesday as guests of the team. No one told Peterkin he needed to bring his football shoes and gloves.

Peterkin broke from his group early during the practice and walked behind the two fields on his way to the far sideline. Suddenly, Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss yelled at Peterkin and fired a pass his way.

“It’s a dream come true,” Peterkin said, with a huge smile.

It got better. Moss then told Peterkin to walk onto the field, amid a group of players and coaches.

“He said, `Don’t be scared. I got you. I got you. Come on,’ ” Peterkin said.

With that, Peterkin wandered onto the field in his uniform, shook Moss’ hand and engaged in a lengthy conversation.

“He was giving me a few pointers on how to catch the football,” said Peterkin, whose rank is airman first class.

This isn’t the first time Moss has gone out of his way to bond with fans during training camp. He has played catch with fans on more than one occasion.
