Are we still that Shining City on the Hill?
Is the Bush Doctrine working for us here in Workplace America?
An Official Editorial by John P. Allen, General Manager of VeteransToday.com
Previous to 2000, we had friends all over the world and were that Shining City on the Hill as Ronald Reagan said. In 2005, we’ve lost our ability to win friends and influence people and we are now that dreaded flooded swamp filled with soot at the bottom of the hill and I am talking about D.C.- not New Orleans!
The cost of the Bush Administration on America is so big, so great, that we can’t even see it. We have NO idea how much we’ve lost from outside our borders.
Respect, Honor, Reverence, etc.it’s lost. No credibility whatsoever!
We are the bully on the street and no one really cares that we finally got punched back. We are resented for the way we have treated others. But then you may say well that’s their problem. And I would respond, no that’s our problem for perception is reality and we live on this planet with others…….not just by ourselvs. That position is grotesque, makes no cents, and renders our brothers and sisters of this planet persona non-grata – not very effective! We can do much better than that!
Do you care? Well you better care!
I mean, they only respected us because our punch was much stronger. Now, they don’t even respect that anymore. We’ve lost our leverage completely and, in the long run, that’s extremely bad for our country. Like it or not, this was all done under the leadership and policies of the Bush Administration. It is time to stand up boys and stand by your actions!
To me, what makes this the hardest to accept is that, with the world at our beckon call on Sept. 12, 2001, we could do no wrong. All we had to do was to invite everyone to our party and to help us in a collective effort to respond to world terrorism. We would have been the heros! But no, Mr. Bush had other ideas and those ideas are now bankrupt.
To me, it is the worst performance by an administration in the history of the USA! Can you name any collosal mistake that has so put us on the backburner than this administration? Yes, to me, this is the worst presidency ever by far!
Now, being I am neither a Democrat or Republican, I hope you take this statement objectively and not try to paint me as a anti-Bush hater or some hater of conservatives. I am not. I am just stating the obviousthat this performance completely sucks!
I mean, in terms of our veterans community, we are potentially looking down a path where our government will not and cannot deliver on needed services.
And moreover, may I say, that I hope from now our readers understand we are truly independant because we won’t vote. Yes, we have relinguished our right to vote so that we can truly present you with both sides of the story without an agenda.
In fact, we pledge to dissent on every issue we can so that you, our reader, can know that we are an equal opportunity presenter of the facts. We respect your intellect and expect that our readers will excercise this right with great effort come election day.
With such, we are insured that our United States of America will truly be a blessed place where all can honor the flag, under great respect for democracy and it’s corresponding long standing set of principles that the world once viewed upon as the greatest idea ever implemented.
Okay, back to where I was – okay, 5 years later, to me, we are definitely worse off than we were previous to 2000. It’s time to get rid of these guys and their doctrine! Reaction!
