Iraqi War veteran and congressional candidate, Nathan Martin, challenges “fighting Democrats.”

Mansfield, OH –Responding to recent news reports, Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio’s fourth congressional district, Nathan Martin asks a group, sometimes calling themselves the fighting Democrats, Where’s the fight?

Martin, an Iraqi War veteran, said, While in Iraq, my unit oversaw the initial Iraqi elections and the Constitutional Referendum. We also took part in helping train two Iraqi Battalions.

For this group to turn their backs on every soldier, sailor, airman and Marine still in Iraq and say their military experience gives them the credibility to criticize the war is wrong, Martin added. They are no better than Jane Fonda.

Martin’s campaign manager, Steve Kush, asked, What’s next, are they going to stand in front of the White House and join John Kerry in a medal throwing ceremony?

Martin added, For any veteran to come back and trash the war is demoralizing to everyone still in Iraq. They should be coming home and talking about winning, not withdrawal….

As a veteran, father, family man and an American I know we must stay in Iraq until the job is done, Martin continued. We can not put a time limit on making the world a safer place for our children.

I challenge these fighting Democrats’ to get their fight back, Martin quipped.

Nathan Martin recently returned from a 12-month deployment in Iraq where he served with the U.S. Army National Guard. Martin is a licensed teacher for grades 7-12. Nathan Martin lives in Mansfield with his wife Mandi and their two daughters Maddelyn (34 months) and Emma (16 months). Learn more about Nathan Martin at www.martin4congress.com.
