Free service dogs available to disabled veterans

Patriotic Paws has mobility service dogs to partner with disabled veterans

Ironically, diabled veterans are some of the people who have the MOST needs unmet and could really use a helping hand–or paw– now and then.  Yet Sandra Mauerhan, Executive Director at Assistance Canines of Texas has not had a decent response regarding the specially trained canines they would like to donate to disabled veterans.

“I spent the ENTIRE day on the phone trying to find out how to reach individuals with disabilities that can benefit from a service dog as a mobility partner.  A couple departments went as far as to tell me that they know of NO vets from Iraq that need an service dog!”
