U.S. Outsources Foreign Policy To Israel

By Joseph Allen

As the Middle East Crisis takes on a new chapter, little has changed.

However American Diplomacy has reached an unprecedented low never before seen in our history. Our Middle Eastern Foreign Policy is now officially outsourced to the Israelis just as American jobs have been outsourced to India and Mexico. This precedent has negative ramifications on many levels.

First, the War on Terror has now effectively been discredited. This by Israeli atrocities along with US and UK tacit compliance. The world community and the Middle East are seething with anger.

The Neo-Con administration has blundered and squandered all the years of good will and  investment made through out the years in the Middle East. The 2,500+ US Servicemen lost and the 300 Billion Dollars spent in Iraq so far, sadly, are now in vain.

Something so simplistic and morally correct as supporting and getting a 72 hour cease fire to bring medical supplies to the innocents suffering in Southern Lebanon is difficult to fathom and erodes all common sense and morality.

Israel has refused and our Secretary of State Condelezza Rice seems grossly ineffective or complicite in this refusal. This is destroying our worldwide standing as the great super power who now simply ignores the world and simply caters to the narrow Israeli interests instead of taking care of our own.

As Americans, we have always been proud to stand up for human rights.  This is now ancient history because of the outsourcing of our Middle East Foreign Policy to the Israelis.

Our taxpayers provide over 4 Billion dollars in direct aid to Israel every year along with an unaccounted amount of defense contracts that add up to Israel being the #1 beneficiary of US money on the planet.  Yet we retain NO influence over this tiny nation for such a huge investment or do we?

This begs the question “Are we stupid or are we complicite in the Israeli unchecked aggression?”. Whatever the answer is, it seriously erodes any credibility in the eyes of the whole world and how can that serve America’s long term interests?

The “Champions of Democracy”, as the Bush Administration purports to be, continues it’s misadventure into the Middle East and its proving to be a flawed and ill conceived policy.  The policy is now up in flames – especially as the Israeli destruction of Lebanon is in full effect.

Even traditional Arab allies of the US who support US policies are now seeing their positions as un-tenable.  This was painfully clear with the recent failied visit to the US by Nour Al- Malki, Prime Minister of the New Iraq.

As well, our Secretary of State’s request to visit Egypt and Jordan, which were politely turned down, are also evidence of an misdventure gone wrong and influence eroding.  There is something wrong here.

As super powers throughout the history of world come and go, the real question becomes why do they fail?

The answer is found in arrogance and within the dehumanization of the nations they dominate.  They also collectively viewed themselves invincible and consequently made distaserous errors. In the history of this, our great country, never has it been so painfully obvious. To put it plainly, a bank robber cannot talk about the virtues of honesty while still robbing banks.

The blood and gore of this failed policy, as witnessed in Iraq and now Lebanon, continues to lead our beloved and now eroding country on a collision course with destiny.

As our soldiers bare the brunt of this failed policy with families on the front line, I can’t help but wonder what’s to become of us.

Seems failed and morally corrupt politicians from the current administration and it’s rubber stamp U.S. Congress illuminate this disaster in waiting.

Sadly the US had great promise as a nation that actually stood for values.  With our Foreign Policy being outsourced as the tail of Israel now wags the USA dog and with no moral compass to guide us on the world stage, we now find our selves where the former Soviet Union once stood – at the edge of the dust bin of history as a failed and morally corrupt empire.  Can we, as a nation, be saved?  Or we on a collision course with failure?
