Wounded Warrior Project Raises Funds for Permanently Disabled Combat Veterans October 7th

Our army reserve unit recently returned from a tour in Iraq. It was our combat support hospital’s responsibilty to clean up the ethical mess in the infamous Abu Ghraib. We did this well and made history in the process. The detainees received better care and treatment than our senior citizens and veterans at home, but now fellow soldiers and I have set up an event that will give back to our own, a charity aimed at assisting permanently disabled combat veterans known as the Wounded Warrior Project. We could use your direction and assistance.

The WWP seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan , and other locations around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds, burns, and blast injuries that will retire these brave warriors from military service. The organization offers adaptive sports, recreational programs, rehabilitation, and readjustment programs for the veteran and their family. And it does a great deal to protect the will by showing that there is life after injury…

We have been in touch with motivated students from the University of Texas that wish to help WWP. Although we are based out of Fort Totten, Queens and are all native New Yorkers we recognize that no state brings as much enthusiasm and energy to college football as Texas. With the assistance of these enthusiastic students from the university we are putting together a documentary that will not only  represent WWP Veterans but also the student spirit groups, Longhorns football, the college, its state traditions, and on/off campus rituals.

Scheduled to take place October 7th in Dallas, the documentary will have the spirit groups accompanied by these great veterans as we partake in all the pre-game, post game, and state  rituals. We are going to show how the student organizations, tailgaters, and communities from within and outside the university prepare, and then celebrate the big event. Giving a voice to the vets and their loved ones will speak of our military, their units, and military families deeply affected by the war on terror. Giving a voice to the student body and fan bases will show the pride of Texas as they speak about the traditions and lore, also bringing a litle education and history to the documentary. Our request is your participation. W e have a chance to give back to men and women that asked for nothing in return of their military service except for the safety and security of their country and families. A few minutes of air time will not be enough to cover everything so we could use as much time as anyone can offer. Your assistance here would be greatly appreciated.

As said, everything is set. All we need is time from one source or another. We understand how important that is but I give you my word as a soldier this will not only be an educational documentary worthwhile for the charity, it will also be a lot of fun for everyone involved. We are open to all ideas, suggestions, and direction.

Anything you may require to verify my story is available; DD Form 214, contact info from the student bodies, etc. Below is a link to pics of our Queens based unit. Made up of NYPD, FDNY, and other fine professionals, the unit set the standard in detainee health care. Also, if you go to www.salesposito.com and click on the CBS interview you will find out more about what we did. These people are the inspiration behind my writing.

My apologies if you are not the right contact but if you could forward this to the right people I would be grateful. Thank you.
