Barr-Nunn believes that trucking and the military go hand-in-hand. With military drivers having strict regimens of traveling, discipline, timeliness, structure and professionalism, the cross-over into life as a civilian is made into an easy one as the skills required to drive over the road are the same. How does the company know this so well? The owner, Bob Sturgeon, and his son are both prior USMC, and proudly support those making the transition out of the military.
The Veterans Alliance Program will give veterans who have 18 months of military tractor trailer experience and at least 6 months of commercial over the road, tractor trailer experience credit up to 1 year base pay rate of $.40 cpm on Practical Mile Pay. The program includes a $.02/per mile 401(k) program, fastest pay raises in the industry, appreciation bonuses, guaranteed hometime and so much more.
