Omniflight Helicopters, Inc. was founded in 1962 by Dan Parker in Janesville, Wisconsin. At that time, flight operations focused on tourism, corporate and utility activities using a Bell 47.

As the Director of the Agency for International Development for the Nixon Administration during the Vietnam War, Dan was exposed to the concept of the “golden hour” and to helicopter evacuation of critically wounded soldiers. He recognized the potential of these services and focused his company on helicopter transport for the critically ill and injured in the United States. He created Omniflight’s Air Emergency Services to realize his vision. Since that time, the company has worked to consolidate its resources to focus only on supporting rotor and fixed wing air medical transport programs.
