Stepping Stones for Vets provides transitional housing to homeless and/or chemically dependent veterans, some of which have a coinciding mental illness.

"We owe them all we can give them, not only for when they're in harm's way, but when they come home, to help them adjust if they have wounds, or help them adjust after their time in service." Whether they are veterans from previous wars or they're the youngest veterans of today, they still need your help. It's so easy to hit the delete button and blow this email letter away and not give it another thought. I am begging you to show compassion for our American Hero's by granting support in the way of grants to the men and women veterans at Stepping Stones for Veterans.  Please continue to read.

It is only by the Grace of God that we still have the doors open at Stepping Stones for Veterans, Inc., 332 West 11th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016. We have not received any help from our State or Federal Representatives or the Veterans Affairs who took away the Homeless Veterans Per-Diem that we used to receive…

More than ever we still need HELP and hope that you understand why. While the numbers are still small, they're steadily rising, and raising alarms in both the homeless and veterans' communities. The concern is that these returning veterans – some of whom can't find jobs after leaving the military, others of whom are still struggling psychologically with the war – may be just the beginning of an influx of new veterans in need. Currently, there are 150,000 troops in Iraq and 16,000 in Afghanistan. More than 130,000 have already served and returned home. "How much do we really Love Them"? Please write to your representatives (Local, State, National) and ask for them for support Stepping Stones for Veterans, Inc.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Please pick up your telephone and dial (765) 648-1101and let us know that you will support our veterans. For more information visit the Stepping Stones for Veterans web site http://www.steppingstonesforvets.org.   I will continue to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Each day I put on the full armor of God so that I can take a stand against the devil's schemes. My struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. I will not retreat under any circumstances. We may loose a few battles once and while, but in the end we will win the war.

Gentlemen I need to know where our organization (Stepping Stones for Veterans, Inc.) stands with the Veterans Administration.  We have called, emailed, written letters and talked to everyone that would listen but no one has answered our plea.  It took the Veteran Hospital called Walter Reed to fall into complete squaler before anyone acted what will it take for you to act.  We have to turn veterans away because there wasn't any way that we had the resources to help them.  What we Offer: PTSD group counseling (weekly), AA Centered Bible Study by Chaplain Ken Ford (weekly), Sex Offenders Group by Indianapolis  Counseling, 4 AA meetings per week (on facility grounds), 2 NA meetings per week (on facility grounds), Individualized Life Skills Program, Self-Assessment, Recreation Therapy, Self-Esteem Building, Employment Skills Training, Volunteer Services, Legal Assistance, Veteran Affairs Assistance, and House Meeting (weekly).

Please forward this to Mr. Guy Liedke, he is the person that needs to know what his decision has done.
