A new multimedia company is in town, and it aint' backing down. The company, Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment, was recently founded by military veterans (some still on active duty), in order to honor and pay homage to today's soldiers and veterans. They want to ensure that this or any generation's sacrifice is never forgotten.
Gerry Kissell, founder of Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment, explained his inspiration in starting the group. "It all began because I was sick of how vets and soldiers were being portrayed in film and comics, and knew what should be done, but also knew I couldn't do it on my own. So I slowly built my team over the last year, looking for patriotic and creative vets."
These vets include Ernesto Haibi, an active duty soldier who co-wrote the comic series, 'City of Fire' with Kissell that is due out in 2008. This is a graphic true story about the men of the 1/23rd Blackhawk Company and their experience on June 24, 2004, during the battle for Mosul, Iraq. The story is told by Haibi, a soldier who was there to witness it all. Haibi also has a popular webcast and personal blog from the war called 'Candle in the Dark.' Kissell also recruited a man named Tom Waltz, a former U.S. Marine who served in operation Desert Storm and U.S. Army post 9-11. Waltz completed the limited comic series and acclaimed Graphic Novel "Children of the Grave," a project recently sold out through IDW Publishing. Waltz is also finishing up his second co-created graphic novel, "Finding Peace."
