The Salvation Army Liberty Program and the State of Califonia EDD are pleased to invite you to participate in the State of California “Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job and resource fair for veterans, National Guard, and Reservists returning home from acitve duty.  All who attend will be able to meet with businesses within Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.

This event is to help our men and woman who have served our nation find a job that will benefit them. Our men and woman who have served possess a plethora of qualities that include experience, education, maturity, leadership, and loyalty that make them ideal candidates for jobs. At a time when many employers are having difficulty finding qualified workers, veterans are a valuable resource that employers cannot afford to ignore.

At the State of California “Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job and resource fair candidates can showcase and market themselves and meet face to face with much different businesses ready to hire.  Businesses at the job and resource fair will seek veterans who are looking for a new career.  The event is sponsored by the Employment Development Department (EDD) , California Community Colleges, California Department of Veteran Affairs, California Labor and Industrial Relation-Apprenticeship Standards, and the San Fernando and Antelope Valley Workforce Collaborative.

The event will be a wonderful opportunity for businesses to fill job openings in their organizations with well-qualified candidates, and for veterans to gain a great job or career that could change their life.  We hope that all interested in attending can make it to the “Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet” job and resource fair.  It will be taking place on Thursday, October 25th, 2007 from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. at the Burbank Airport Marriot Hotel and Convention Center located at 2500 Hollywood Way in Burbank California.
