A Veteran for homeless Veterans 1-21-08

Written By Peter Macdonald 465 Packersfalls Rd Lee NH 03824 603-659-6217

I want to Thank Marty Capodice of the NHES for the “Stand Down” to help homeless Veterans. I also want to thank Staff Sgt Barbara-Lee Valente for her part to help homeless Veterans. I believe that there should be no homeless people in the United States but that is my dream. Veterans on the other hand that are drug addicts, alcoholics or criminals locked in a cage because they violated the law may be home less or become homeless. To recognize the needs of Veterans this help is a start. Veterans (not all) but a good part, I bet are homeless because of where they have been and lived through. I can repeat that the effects of being “in country” have a lasting effect on all Veterans. Some learn to live with it by deferment or denial. Others keep the silent enemy of the echoes of war deep in silent memory to protect the loved ones around them from learning the weaknesses of a Veteran. Some become lost in the “world” that they came home to, because they no longer can conceive the realities of a civilized society. Some Veterans came home to be denied or ignored by elected officials that would rather place the cost of help for veterans into other pet projects to build a legacy in the public eye. People like Marty and Barbara-Lee should be thanked and you have it from my heart.

Censorship by newspapers and news media is the worst crime of all. Since the internet people have been learning the untold story. There are many untold stories. I do not know if the news is just afraid of being sued or believes protecting the character of public officials with power is more important. Veterans gave their lives for this nation (U.S.) yet the news censors the cruel irony that created these Veterans into what they have become to protect society. The blind eye of society structured by the protection of the public from the truth that is socially unacceptable (censorship) allowed veterans to become hero’s with no aid to bring them back into society. I am no hero but I am one of those Veterans. The State of NH has tormented, harassed and tortured me for the sole attempt to silence my exposing elected officials that committed crimes. News censorship has allowed these crimes to continue.

I am not home less but I have stated and asked for help many times. The NH Government and Veterans Administration have stopped and interfered with my medical and other to silence my free speech. You have no idea the world that my mind lives in just trying to fit into a society that I do not belong. Reality is that we need someone in the State of New Hampshire senate to bring what is happening out to the public. We need someone who will stand up for every individual with out bending. I ask for you to speak up so that I can publicly state my case and make NH realize Veterans are the silent hero’s that need help also. I came back 100% disabled. Two of my three injuries were received in separate combat support missions.
