The Glue That Holds Us Together

oldhospWITHOUT COMMUNITY, WE HAVE NOTHING

BY:  G. DUFF

I had spent the last 3 months calling one of my friends over and over.  I got no answer.  He is a PTSD vet living in Kentucky who has helped me, along with a few others, in counseling projects, those nasty nasty Memorial Day RFTW motorcycle trips and other things.  He disappeared.  Last night we found him in the PTSD inpatient ward in Lexington.

It took me days of calling people to find him.  He is supposed to get a "pass" and come up here next week.  He is hoping they help him there.  I hope so too but I don’t trust them.  Hell, I don’t trust very many people.  This means I am paranoid or PTSD or totally sane, depending on who you talk to.

After finding him, I sent out an email to a few friends asking them to start keeping in better tourch.  I am doing this here now.  Keep in touch.  Promote this site.  Yes, this is commercial.  Morgan and John run this, some people pay for ads and this is not a charity.  However, how many sites can you write in to and get people to answer?  This is the only one of its size I know of…

We are picking up writers all the time.  Eventually people run out of things to say.  It even happens to me.  However, as you are reading this and I don’t have a clue why I am writing, take this as a lesson that being yourself and writing what pops into your head is better than hiding under your bed.  My experiences has been, the crazier you are, the more readers you will have.

We have changes coming.  Politics in America is moving left, moving progressive.  Depsite the worries some have of gun siezures, forced cloning and christmas trees being made illegal, we will get back some freedoms that many of you never noticed were gone.

All of this will be for nothing if we let politics divide us.  If we can’t get together as Veterans, active duty, National Guard, families and supporters and work for, not only benefits, but a free and open America that is feared AND respected, we will be neither.  Few fear us and nobody respects us.

Nobody respects a beggar with a gun in his pocket stumbling around like a crazy drunk.  This is what Bush has given us and how we are seen.  I also know that none of the other candidates are giving any of you more hope that things will suddenly be different.  America isn’t candidates, it is people.  Mitt Romney tells us this every day while he laughs at us and reminds his own children that they are "too good" to fight for America while poor people can be coerced into the Army to feed their families.

The worst thing that has happened to us is "the news".  First there was Fox News.  Republicans took money from Rupert Murdock, worst news whore in history, and gave him control of a TV network, newspapers and much of our news, now including the Wall Street Journal.  He has spent years lying continually for the republicans and has shown that if he is allowed his special privileges, he will lie for democrats too.

The problem isn’t the crooked republicans or new crooked democratsts.  The problem is lies.

How in the hell can any of us get up every day and go to work if we have jobs yet most of us believe that 9/11 was arranged by our own government so we could start a phony war to steal from Iraq and run American into bankruptcy?

According to polls, it is what Americans believe, but nobody does anything.  There is so much proof you have to wear a black hood and live in your bathroom with cotton balls in your ears to avoid it.

Same thing with the Kennedy assassination.  Lee Harvey Oswald was at a vending machine when Kennedy was killed.  Get real.

Yes, tiny spacemen were found at Roswell.
