Significant Education Benefit Payments Aid Veterans and Their Families in their Quest to Build New Careers in Graphic and Web Design

NEW YORK –  Sessions Online Schools of Art and Design, (“Sessions”)  the quality leader in online education for creative professionals around the world, today announced it has been approved by the New York State Department of Veterans’ Affairs Approving Agency to enroll students under the education provisions of the G.I. Bill.Sessions  also announced that eligible students will qualify for a further 20 percent tuition discount that Sessions has created exclusively for current military members and veterans.

The Sessions programs approved for G.I. Bill benefits include many of the most popular (and lucrative) fields within creative arts including Graphic Design, Web Design, Multimedia Arts, Digital Arts, Marketing Design and Game Art. “Education provides a road to recovery for some and a path to new and exciting career opportunities for many,” commented Congressmen Carolyn McCarthy, who represents New York’s fourth Congressional District.  “Sessions has clearly demonstrated a commitment to our military and I’m pleased that still more of our service men and women will be able to avail themselves of a Sessions education.”Sessions’ approval for G.I. Bill education benefits payments comes on the heels of the June 2008 unveiling of Sessions’  $1 million Louis H. Schilt Memorial Scholarship program to help physically and mentally injured servicemen and women (and spouses) build new careers in the graphic and Web design fields.

Partnering with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Sessions created the scholarship program to cover full tuition – as well as state-of-the-art Apple iMac computers and professional-level graphic and Web design software – for Foundation I Graphic Design or Web Design foundation programs.  The first class under this program will begin their studies in September.

"Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America is thrilled to work with Sessions to help wounded veterans continue their educations.  IAVA looks forward to increasing awareness about both the generous Louis H. Schilt Memorial Scholarship and the availability of G.I. Benefits for Sessions courses and programs among our membership nationwide," said Paul Rieckhoff, Executive Director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.  "More than 30,000 service members have been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan and IAVA is grateful to Sessions for recognizing their sacrifice in such a meaningful way."
