TO THE ENEMIES OF AMERICAN FREEDOM: YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE

For 8 long years America sunk into barbarism and corruption while many empowered to protect and defend stood silently by. Thousands of judges, lawyers and law enforcement officials joined the armies of corrupt regulatory authorities, press stooges and anti-American elements hidden in our midst to bring America low.
A spineless congress marched in step with a military leadership stripped of its honorable leaders, pushing illegal war, torture and illegal and unconstitutional laws on a democratic and once proud nation. Millions of Americans who believed we could trade freedom and honor for safety now know we got neither. With the only proof our own government didn’t orchestrate the 9/11 attacks a coverup from a corrupt and discredited investigation managed by officials now hoping to escape arrest and imprisonment themselves, no rational citizen can believe anything he has been told by his government for years.
We know we illegally invaded Iraq. We know we violated every Constitutional right and international law by our secret prisons, illegal tribunals and brutal torture of many totally innocent people.
We know our own government watched the greatest financial criminals in the history of the planet violate our laws and regulations openly, bringing about a collapse of America’s economy. We know it was all made possible by a systematic policy of corruption at the highest levels of our Federal government and yet, while it went on, hundreds of billions of dollars disappeared with our economic geniuses seeing nothing.
The groups representing our sportsmen, like the NRA, propagandized the ignorant rabble in their membership while the forests those “oh so valuable” rifles were meant to hunt in were clearcut and sold off with no thought to “renewal” and future generations. Rivers and lakes fouled by runoff from strip mining and air pollution from unregulated power plants made possible by government regulators hired from big polluter lobbyist firms went unnoticed by “sportsmen” more interested in extremist politics than preserving America’s natural treasures.
Patriotic “veterans” groups cheered on the continual attacks on America’s freedoms while watching our troops and veterans cheated and abused by a corrupt bureaucracy. These “sunshine patriots” spent millions fighting to protect our flag from being burned while the men and women who fought to keep us free lost their health, their homes, their jobs and even their lives.
Our system of justice, the basis of any free nation became a commodity to be bought and sold. Judges, prosecutors and police agencies across America were stacked with corrupt appointees and spineless lackeys as willing to prosecute the innocent as protect the guilty if asked, and they were asked, over and over. Guilt or innocence was, more and more, based on political parties, wealth and “donations” and less on good or evil or even law.
Without a voice of moderation, the “free market” disappeared. Companies banded together to push up the price of natural gas, gasoline, sugar, flour and a thousand other things we buy every day. Competition disappeared and profits soared. Trusts and monopolies gained power over government with banks, insurance companies, drug producers, oil companies and the military industrial complex buying and selling our foreign policy, our laws and even our lives at will.
We are being asked to mortgage 200 years of sweat and blood to reimburse the wealthy for losing money that never really existed in the first place. Hundreds of billions of dollars of ‘Monopoly money’ made and lost thru fanciful trades in a phantom economy has our government breathless with fear. Our leaders ache at the idea that some fat cat may lose his 4th vacation home or his 3rd Bentley while millions of Americans willing to slave and starve for $6 an hour find even those jobs unattainable.

It took more than Bush, Cheney, Rove and a few thousand crooked lawyers and bankers to bring us to disaster. It took the NRA, the VFW, the American Legion, Fox News and their cohorts in the propaganda press, our corrupt and mindless preachers and their blind followers. It took the evil, the ignorant and the fearful crushing the caring and good.
The monuments to hate and greed have all collapsed, leaving not even dust. Few of the guilty have the courage of Rush Limbaugh who still stands, alone and erect, spewing his venom. Most have crept away in the night, hoping the “new gang” in Washington will fall into the old ways of putting money over honor. They may very well be right.
All we can do is watch. We know who the criminals are and the crimes they have committed. The world knows.
How can we arrest a drunk driver or drug dealer when the innocent are imprisoned and tortured or billions are stolen and nothing is said? We are either a nation of laws and principles or we are nothing.
