Calling All Veterans, Let's Amend the Constitution NOW!

by  Donald W. Dunaway, Capt., USAF, (Ret)

I am inviting all Veteran’s groups and organizations to assist me in providing publicity and exposure for a proposed twenty-eighth Article of amendment to our U.S. Constitution. It can be reviewed and studied at and your assistance and feedback are earnestly solicited.

Granted, it is only a start, but start we must, if we are ever going to rid ourselves of the do-nothings inside the beltway and reclaim our government from the grip of the self-serving predators who now control it. Please provide a link to the site for all your members and help spread the word. In grateful appreciation, I remain, sincerely,

We the People of these United States, in order to restore the Executive and Legislative Branches of our Government to the context of Public Service, do hereby propose and promulgate this twenty-eighth Article of Amendment to our Constitution.

This means is employed to gain exposure and publicity for a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The original document has performed well through its two-centuries-plus life with only twenty-seven amendments, but certainly the original authors would shake their heads in disbelief and dismay if they could but see the me-my-mine-mindset that typifies so many of those disguised today as "public servants".

It is my fervent hope that all who visit here will have an open mind to the concept that the greatest nation on earth deserves far better than it has been getting in the way of elected officials; that they will encourage friends, family and their own elected officials to look at this proposed amendment; and especially that they will share its purpose and content with those of their acquaintance who may disdain computers but practice unwavering citizenship. Let it be acknowledged up front that at this point it is very much a work in progress and a long way from a done deal. If it succeeds at all it will be only because the few remaining patriots in this country are able to generate enough support for it, and of course, the endorsement and support of ex-, incumbent or aspiring public servants, and all patriots by any name, are earnestly solicited.

Do not expect to zip through it and garner all its finer points in one quick read. As Constitutional Amendments go, it is large in size, comprehensive in scope and almost tedious in detail, so bookmark it and return as often as you like. It is large, comprehensive and detailed because getting these same provisions through any legislature before ratification will simply never happen and your Nation needs every one of them. It proposes profound and fundamental changes in the way this Nation elects its Legislative and Executive Branches, what it expects and requires of candidates and officeholders, and how it proposes to enforce those expectations and requirements.

Section 1 is short and quick, but lays the foundation stone. Section 2 lays out the amendments to Articles 1 and 2 of the Constitution and to the existing amendments, all to prepare the way for Section 3 which is the body and soul of the proposal. Section 4 is a short read and the Benefits/Discussion are not required reading at all, but please, feel free.
