A Promise Made: Fully fund the VA so it has all the resources it needs to serve the veterans who need it, when they need it
by Lt Bobby Ross
If you agree with me that we need to support our Troops and our Veterans, then there is something you can do. Hanging a magnet on your car that says SUPPORT OUR TROOPS is cool, but it is not enough. We now have a great opportunity to show our support for our Troops that will last far longer than their service in the military. We have a chance to show our Veterans of all wars that they are appreciated.
We have an obligation to FULLY FUND the Department of Veteran Affairs. In so doing, ALL Veterans who need the VA will be able to get the help they need. Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan will not have to wait to get the help they deserve for TBI and PTSD injuries. Our older Veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam will be able to go to the VA when they need it most, in their senior years.
All of us believe that our Veterans deserve nothing but the best. Now, it is our duty to require that they get nothing but the best.
Please go to the following site and take the appropriate action. No you won’t get a surprise if you go to the site. I’m not trying to sell you anything!!!
However, if you do so, and find in your heart that what I’m sending you will help our fighting men and women and Veterans ‘first’ to receive what they were promised by ‘We The People" to have their battle wounds taken care of in the best and most timely manner we as Americans can provide, then please do something.
The site is http://nam-vet.net/promise.htm
After you visit this wonderful site, please reach into your heart and help those who have given all so that we can have what we have. Our freedom.
And please relay this message to everyone in your network. Since I began sending this letter to my fellow Americans, many have taken my message and done some incredible individual actions to make it mean something of substance.
One person has taken it to the students in his school district and they are now writing to our President asking him to pray for our Troops and to protect our Veterans. Others have sent it to their local newspapers, and it is now being spread over the media around our nation.
Some have sent it to their favorite radio and TV stations.
Please, I am not trying to sell you anything. Our Veterans have been betrayed to such a degree over the past, and it is time for ‘change’, and WE THE PEOPLE are the only ones who can do so. We must provide for our Veterans who have done so much for all of us. Our children’s future depends on this. Without a strong military, how can we maintain our freedoms in this crazy world? And, if our children realize that we as a nation have turned our backs on our fighting men and women, then who is going to fight for us in the future?
This issue is so very important, the President and Congress has placed it on the very top of their agenda. But, they need to know we support them in their efforts to protect our Veterans. Please do what you can to address this most important mission, and write your elected officials.
And if this is not enough for you, then step out on your own. Go to your church, your school, your club or your even your friends and neighbors and spread the word.
I have personally taken it upon myself to direct this message to you. If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to contact me personally and I will answer any question, I will direct you to the goodness we as Americans can take to insure that our fighting men and women, and our Veterans are NEVER betrayed again.
The ball is in your court. If you simply delete this, then it is you who will bear the guilt of turning ‘your’ back on these precious treasures who live amongst us, who fight for us in foreign lands, who die and bleed so we, the people, can be free.
