sp3220090303090738_400CAN ANYONE NAME WHO THE ENEMY WAS?

WHO WERE THE REAL WINNERS?

By Gordon Duff, Staff Writer

We just had a war.  4000 Americans are dead and thousands wounded.  We are broke.  Combat now seems to be over after a surge where we finally beat the XXXXX.  Does anyone know?  We invaded to stop terrorists in Iraq that never existed until we invaded.  Then the terrorists came.

We invaded to seize imaginary Weapons of Mass Destruction.  All we found was thousands of tons of guns and explosives which we left unguarded for terrorists to come and find.  The enemy is not the Shiites in Iraq.  The enemy is not the Kurds in Iraq.  The enemy is not “terrorists” in Iraq.  The enemy is not Sunnis in Iraq.  In fact, we can’t really name an enemy at all.

There was fighting.  We know who started it.  It was George “W” Bush.  Everyone else is still in Iraq.  They still have their guns.  The only person that is gone is Bush, officially “most hated man in the world” by every poll.

How do we describe Iraq?  Did we overthrow a dictator or did we start a temporary civil war that “petered out” on its own after Americans zoomed around the country, spent untold amounts of money and killed up to a million people.  Who did we kill?  We don’t know.  Why did we kill them?  They were shooting at us.  Why were they shooting at us?  Because we were there.  Why were we there?  We don’t know.

Did America win the war?  This is a good question.  This was a war to stop terrorists in Iraq.  Before the war there were no terrorists.  Now there are.  Terrorists came to fight Americans.  In 2 years, we will have spent hundreds of billions of dollars training Iraq to fight terrorists who came to fight us.  We will have been there nearly a decade.

iraqwarWhere will the terrorists go?  They will eventually follow us to Afghanistan, though there might not be any room for them there as prettymuch everyone there is already a terrorist.

Didn’t we win a war in Afghanistan?  Well, we thought so, but years later it seems the enemy is stronger than every and we have to send in more troops.  They will be there ten years, maybe 20 years, we may never leave.

Will we win this war?  Nobody on Earth believes that.  Fighting may some day stop, the enemy will move into Iran or Pakistan for awhile.  We will leave and they will come back.  Does any of this sound familiar?  When Nixon and Kissinger did this in Vietnam, they abandoned hundreds of US prisoners of war but later Vietnam began making tennis shoes (sneakers to some) for us.sp3220090303092155

Will Afghanistan make sneakers or continue with the huge increase in the production of opium that we seem to have helped them with?  Afghanistan had traditionally provided 75% of the worlds opium.  However in 2000, the Taliban, our enemy, ended opium productuction in Afghanistan.

A year later we invaded.

Now opium production, which before the Taliban, provided 75% of the worlds supply, now, under the US backed Karzai government and American military occupation, provides 93% of the worlds opium supply.

Wasn’t the war really about 9/11?  Was it?  They did that?  Are we sure?  Do you really believe the people who told you that when everything else they said for 8 years is turning out to be a lie?

sp3220090303092302_400We can list the winners and losers in the current wars pretty easily.

WINNERS:

  • Big oil has had record profits
  • American food companies that jacked up prices based on “ethanol” and “bio-fuel” scams
  • GOP owned “Blackwater” (now “Xe”)
  • Arms companies whose cost overruns have gone unchecked for 8 years
  • Drug dealers around the world who now have an endless supply of cheap heroin
  • Manufacturers of artificial limbs needed by the Americans who served in the war
  • America’s rich who stopped paying taxes for 8 years while America went broke.
  • Iran
  • The Taliban
  • Islamic extremists
  • Russia
  • George “W” Bush

LOSERS:

  • sp3220090303092727_400Americans who gave their savings to pay to drive to work, jobs many no longer have
  • Americans who go to the grocery store and pay extra for food that should cost less
  • Parents whose children are being offered cheap drugs made available by our “war on terror”
  • Military families victimized by “stop loss” and multiple deployments
  • Our dead and wounded
  • Our recent veterans, unemployed, families broken, thousands suicidal and abandoned.
  • Islamic moderates
  • The people of Iraq
  • The people of Afghanistan
  • The people of America
  • China, Africa, Western Europe and other areas victimized by the US economic collapse
  • America’s “missing in action” middle class, jobs gone, homes reposessed, savings eaten away

sp3220090303093416_400Do we add all the stock scamsters and banking crooks that have been caught to the “loser” list or put the tens of thousands who have gotten away with stealing America blind while the government was looking the other way on the “winners” list?

sp3220090303093721

What list do we put our kids on?  What was done to their future?  How many families have been destroyed?  Will discounted school lunches and a pat on the back make everything better?

Two very evil people were involved in a war.  One was hanged.  The other is living in Dallas spending our millions.

We gave out 52 playing cards, listing “war criminals” in Iraq.  We now have so many Americans involved in government corruption, financial crimes, torture or worse that the list would fit on a deck of cards 20 feet tall.

Buy that on Ebay and the shipping alone would break you.
