Gina, the famous Pin Up for Vets Girl, just wanted to let all of you know that she made her very first hospital visit of 2009 on March 2 to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA.
She hosted a dinner for the Wounded Warriors and gave out donated calendars, tee shirts, and posters with special messages of appreciation. Everyone had a blast and the Wounded Warriors LOVED their gifts!!! The project got lots of great feedback and they were just so appreciative.
The donated tee-shirts were gone within seconds!!! A big thank you goes out to these brave heroes for their service to our country!
Here are some pictures below of deployed military with their calendars.
Gina says "Thank you to all of you who donated calendars for deployed military".
Here are some messages of appreciation she has have received:
"Please keep up the awesome work you do most Americans don’t understand that it is the little things that keep us going. I wish I would have had something like this when I was learning to walk again; you are truly a God send to the boys and girls over here."
"Yesterday a package dropped into my lap… full of your wonderful calendars. I spread them out amongst the guys and the response was unanimous- nothing but thanks and appreciation from the Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen here in Afghanistan. As nice as the pictures are, and they are very nice, the real treat is knowing that proceeds from these calendars is going to those who stood up and made great sacrifices so we can all enjoy our freedom. Thanks again for all you do."
