THE FAILURE OF “NEO-CONSERVATISM”

Quietly, behind the scenes, top political, military and law enforcement leaders in the US are admitting that the Bush presidency can only be described as a coup, overthrowing American democracy. Most admit that 9/11 hit them as a predicted “CIA fundraiser” and not a terrorist attack against the US, and the response, pushing thru bills that ended Constitutional freedoms and then invading an uninvolved but oil rich country completed the needed proof.
It was all predictable. When the “conservative revolution” was created to build a coalition of “fly over state” Christians, woman hating males and “conspiracy junkies” willing to believe in imaginary weapons of mass destruction or fantasy armies of highly organized terrorists was melded with media under tight corporate control and endless funding from the cartel/monopolists in oil, defense, tobacco, insurance, drugs and the collapsed financial sector, the writing was on the wall. We would be living in a police state.
We would see nothing but rich get richer, poor get poorer, an unimaginable growth in national debt and endless war. Rhetoric of hate would replace reason. All “foreigners” were either terrorists or on welfare. All minorities were criminals. Anyone who opposed the take over was a ‘terrorist sympathizer,’ ‘not supporting the troops’ or a Communist.
We can’t even call this Fascism. Fascism worked better. Germany and Italy under Fascism didn’t go into debt and they remained loyal to their own people. “Neo-cons” were the worst of Fascism combined with the worst of Communism, a corporate/totalitarian state with “board rooms” replacing the “central committee.”
Like Fascist Germany, crushed in war and Communist Russia, collapsed under bloat and corruption, “neo-con” America collapsed from a combination of both. All that is left is the smell, Fox News, back woods “skinheads” and “flat Earth” bible thumpers still hiding under their beds from “liberal conspiracy.”
With no “reeducation camps” to send them to, no “Gitmo” for idiots, they flock to the safety of pundits, the internet and internet hate groups.
What they spew is continual threats of race war, assassination, terror attacks on the US mixed with the endless denial for their own acts of greed and selfishness that brought America low.
Never will a single one of “them” admit error, admit failure, admit that they turned on their country out of fear, choosing to follow an unAmerican path.
Why do so many who talk about faith hate so much or have so little faith in their own country?
Why do we have to be bombarded with talk about believing in Christ’s teachings and scroll down the page to a section on building bombs or threatening public officials?
With a huge majority of Americans behind a president, distrustful of Congress and sick of war, we could and should expect a correction, a restoration of rights and freedoms and a renewal in faith by those who really have faith.
However, with billions in war and oil profits floating around Washington and a military and government with “moles” left over from the Cheney/Gonzales administration, it may take longer to win back America than to defeat the Taliban.
