For generations to come,Veterans and their families will look at the decisions to build the Veterans Park and Service Center at the Joint Forces Training Base(JFTB) with pride and satisfaction. With existing veterans and the soldiers currently fighting in the Global War on Terrorism, the need for a veterans service complex has greatly increased. The Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos is developing such service building and memorial to support and honor veterans at the JFTB Los Alamtios in Southern California.  (pp 797, OC Thomas Guide)

The JFTB Veteran’s Service building will house organizations to address the many needs of veterans and the armed forces on the base.  Services will include health services, employment counseling and training, educational assistance and family support services. The concept is "one stop shopping" at one location for veterans in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas. The building will also include a 150 person briefing room and a veteran’s organizations welcome center that includes a day care center.

Surrounding the JFTB Veteran’s Service building will be the Veteran’s Memorial Park.  The park will include a veteran’s memorial to honor all service members, an amphitheater, seating areas for enjoyment of the park, a children’s playground, and a ¼ mile walking path.  Throughout the park, lush vegetation will provide shade, and the current parking lot will be expanded to provide ample parking to accommodate all visitors. A museum is also planned.

To accomplish the building of the JFTB Veteran’s Park, the Joint Forces Training Base is partnering with numerous veterans’ organizations, volunteer groups, patriots and the city of Los Alamitos.  The involvement from such a wide range of representatives presents the opportunity to honor veterans as a community.  For information and details or if you would like to volunteer or make a donation, please contact CPT Aaron Tom (562)795-2090/2746 ([email protected]) at the Joint Forces Training Base.
