The United States has again accused Chinese fishing vessels of confronting a US Navy surveillance ship. The Pentagon said two mainland fishing vessels confronted the USNS Victorious in the Yellow Sea on Friday evening, coming within 30 metres of the American ship before breaking off. The incident was the fifth of its kind within the past two months. Officials said the US vessel sounded its alarm and turned on its fire hoses to ward off the Chinese ships. Beijing accuses US vessels of entering China’s exclusive economic zone illegally.
