Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans:
As you will recall, one of the first things that President Obama did was to announce that his Administration was adopting a policy of general principles on transparency and open government. Apparently the West LA VA bureaucrats didn’t get the memo.
Please read the attached letter that from the VA’s Freedom of Information Act officer regarding a previous request for a copy of the Act of 1887, the Deed of 1888, and lease agreements with the Palisades PGA golf tournament.
The cost that the VA wants to charge to "retrieve" these documents is $2,508.38.

While we have copies of the Act and Deed that have been around a while, I thought that possibly the ones we all have could be different from the VA’s, hence the reason for requesting the Documents. Note that it will take 16 hours each (32 hours) to locate and retrieve the Deed and the Act.
If Ralph Tillman, the so-called "asset manager" for the West LA VA property does not have an authentic copy of both readily available in his desk drawer, then he must be terminated posthaste for dereliction of duty.
Recently, through the Freedom of Information Act, the Obama Administration released secret government documents to the general public that included legal opinions regarding apparent torture while the CIA and military interrogated suspected terrorist prisoners at Camp Guantanamo.
On the other hand, a Veteran has to pay $2,508.38 to obtain copies of the Congressional Act of 1887, the Deed of 1888, and lease agreements violating these two noble Documents that prevent our fellow Veterans from having a peaceful place to heal from war on their own sacred land.
There needs to be a full investigation on these VA thug bureaucrats that eat from the public trough and abuse America’s Veterans and their sacred land.
