Friends & Colleagues:

This message is to confirm that National Defense Committee’s Executive Director, Bob Carey Jr., will be testifying before the U. S. Senate this coming Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 301 of the Russell Senate Office Building.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive testimony on "Problems for Military and Overseas Voters: Why Many Soldiers and Their Families Can’t Vote".

If you want to attend, we’re advised seating is on a "first come, first served" basis as they expect a standing room only crowd given the high level of interest in these matters that impact on the election of our national leadership.

For those of you that are current military or military veterans, we’d also like to hear from you regarding any problems you’ve encountered with voting during your military service.  Send them direct to Bob Carey at [email protected]
If they are systemic in nature and Bob can weave them into his testimony or during the Hearing Q&A session, he will try to do that.  But if not, I can assure you that NDC will catalog them and use them in the future as examples when we try to get Congress to fix these issues and systemics that are still preventing members of the U. S. Armed Forces from voting to this very day.  We’ll also send you any further announcements we publish regarding this hearing, as well as any press releases related to the hearing and NDC’s participation and testimony.
Will keep you posted, but for now, wanted you to know that NDC is confirmed to testify on Wednesday, 13 May and that Bob Carey Jr. will be presenting that testimony on behalf of the National Defense Committee.
With all good wishes,
Rear Admiral [Ret.] James J. Carey, National Chairman
NATIONAL DEFENSE COMMITTEE
