Legion will serve barbecue lunch for veterans

Moorpark Post 502 of The American Legion will treat veterans and active and reserve military to a free barbecue picnic from noon to 4 p.m., or until the food is gone, on Armed Forces Day tomorrow, May 16, at the Veterans’ Memorial Grove in Poindexter Park, 500 Poindexter Ave., Moorpark. The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs and trimmings.

The organizers of the event are members of the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 502, the veterans of Post 502 and local businesswoman Debbie Heaslip, an active auxiliary member.
