OUR HARVEST: RELIGIOUS MURDERS AND RITUAL ABUSE
WHAT HAVE WE SOWN?

Today, two soldiers were murdered by an extremist Islamic convert under constant FBI watch. The moderate religious voices in the Islamic community that could have stopped this silenced as “terrorists” by a regime in Washington now recognized as wantonly corrupt.
A doctor is murdered by a Christian zealot a short drive away. This Christian terrorist was also on an FBI watch list. He was driven to murder by his religious community working hand in hand with the FBI and Justice Department whose leadership found “political capital” in catering to domestic terrorists of the “right” kind.
Hundreds of American papers suppressed this tale of unspeakable horror under Church pressure: In the small nation of Ireland, smaller and less populated that most of our states, 35,000 children were raped and sodomized in their Church run schools. How was this proven? A 2800 page report was released. This is just Ireland. The numbers in the US could be as high or higher.
With politically extremist “Christian” churches supporting torture and advocating murders and bombings while living tax exempt and subsidized, even protected by the FBI and other churches abusing children on a global scale while trying to push science and medicine back into the Middle Ages, Islam should not be singled out as the problem. Religion needs a “house cleaning.”
Islam will soon be the largest religion in the world, the largest in Europe and larger in the US than anyone imagines. The Taliban is a mixture of church and politics. How has that worked out so far? Iran has had a “church and politics” government. Half the people there hide in their homes watching porn and MTV, afraid the mullah’s will break down their doors.
Here at home, religious nuts led by John Ashcroft, Dick Cheney, Bush (the lesser) and crazed evangelist war mongers in the chaplains corp pray every day for nuclear war as part of their obsession with rapture and the apocalypse. Troops are driven to rape and torture told it is “God’s will” and supported by the same churches at home that fill the ranks of white supremacist groups and homegrown terrorist militias.
Enemies of the governments religious friends are wiretapped under FISA , audited, put on “watch lists” and even arrested, black, white, brown, Republican, Democrat, it doesn’t matter. Don’t look in the “main stream” or “fair and balanced” news for these stories.

The DHS warning a few weeks ago was not as far out of line as it sounded. We just can’t handle the truth. We have created monsters. Who was Timothy McVeigh? Where was he trained? What did he believe? How was he different from others being molded in his image today?
The heart of McVeighs beliefs were based on his strong support for the National Rifle Association and militia groups inspired by former Naval Intelligence briefer and McVeigh friend, Milton William Cooper. All of it was Revelations, the apocalypse with space aliens thrown into the mix.
No wonder Cooper briefed top admirals in the Navy. He and McVeigh, had they survived, would have been top staff members for Karl Rove or even may have served in the Bush cabinet.
Here, in Toledo, Ohio, we have a microcosm of the worlds religious controversy. We have a local priest (Gerald Robinson) doing life in prison for murdering a nun during a Black Mass. Our largest evangelical church whose complex includes a religious shopping and convention center has a pastor with a series of arrests for public indecency.
The murdering priest and “raincoat and no underwear” pastor have these things in common:
1. They preach right wing politics from the pulpit while subsidized by the taxpayer.
2. They preach against Islam but hold themselves to a moral standard that would make a terrorist puke.
3. Their real obsessions are sex, power and wealth, long the domain of our most fervent religious leaders.
4. If any lawyer tried to twist witness testimony the way these “holy Joe’s” mock Christ’s teachings with their tortured and fantasy ridden “spin,” they would be laughed out of court.
The founding fathers supported separation of church and state for good reasons. Religious zealots were burning witches and torturing people for failing to comply with “proper” religious practice. Given the chance, we might have built a feudal despotism. America would have died before it was born.
We moved down that road, the fears of the weak minded and morally corrupt enraptured by the opportunity 9/11 gave them. Religion, power and freedom NEVER mix. Can anyone dispute this?
Imagine the Statue of Liberty, torch ready to burn heretics, not to welcome those seeking freedom.
