The Federal Government created the veteran. That is the courts opinion of what a veteran is. Of course, we have been left out of many things, i.e. Civil Rights Act of 1964, race, color, creed, national origin, sex, religion.
Notice it does not say veteran.
At this time, there are approximately 26 Million veterans, and, yes, we are a ” special class ” of people. States may not create a veteran, they can create a militia. Of interest, it can be noted that by leaving out the word ” veteran ” from the Civil Rights Act, veterans have NO avenue to file a complaint. If we had rights, the mess at V.A. could not, nor would not have happened.
YES, we stood on the battlefield to protect the Bill of Rights, however, have none ourselves. Lastly, if the Federal Government created the veteran, then why is their NO DRAFT to include all segments of society ?
Imagine, the rich could afford a lawyer for their son/daughter, and legal precedent would have ruled on behalf of many veterans. Having the poor serve, who themselves cannot afford a lawyer prevents proper legal representation on behalf of said veteran. Thanks to the lackluster performance of traditional veterans organizations we find ourselves locked out of those rights our fellow citizens have. That is a national disgrace.
