Flowers for Heroes is an organization and charity dedicated to honor America’s fallen heroes and their families. As the Fourth of July approaches and most are looking forward to outdoor grilling and fireworks, this organization has a different idea of the perfect way to spend the holiday.

Flowers for Heroes will be placing bouquets on the headstones at the Soldiers National Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA this Independence Day. “I find Independence Day one of the greatest holiday’s of the year,” stated Russ Phillip, the founder of Flowers for Heroes. “This is a day to honor those who have sacrificed everything for the freedoms we take for granted every day. I created Flowers for Heroes because I want to honor those soldiers and also make a difference in the families that they left behind.”

We are looking to increase awareness and find volunteers to help honor those who gave their lives serving our nation. If you would like to find out how to help, please feel free to email or give us a call, we would love to hear from you.

Our Present Mission:

Flowers for Heroes offers red, white, and blue flower bouquets to anyone and everyone interested in supporting our fallen soldiers and their families. Donations for these bouquets can be placed online and they will be placed at every headstone of certain selected military cemeteries around the world. We are currently working with Arlington, Gettysburg, Antietam, Quantico and Normandy for our 2009 push. Our future mission is to visit 12 military cemeteries a year and place bouquets on all the headstones of our nation’s fallen heroes.

The money generated from donations for bouquets will be donated to organizations affiliated with Gold Star Families across our nation. Our approximated calculation for 2009 is $3,000,000 raised for donation.

Gold Star Families are families that have lost a family member in battle while serving in our nation’s armed forces. It is part of our mission to make sure these fallen heroes are never forgotten and their family’s stories live on.

We encourage you to visit our website and view our videos which are updated weekly with new pictures and memorials of our heroes. www.flowersforheroes.org.

We are constantly working to generate awareness and gain support through donations and volunteers. As this continues, we are able to better the lives of Gold Star families and the Heroes that fought to protect our freedom. It is our hope that you see what we see and feel what we feel. Our challenge to you is to spread the word in your community and become involved any way possible.

Thank you for your support and God bless our Troops!
