The second GOP presidential hopeful in a week has joined Senator Ensign and "bathroom buddy" Senator Larry Craig in the hypocrites hall of shame.
Sanford, who joined the 315th Airlift Wing, Air Mobility Command (ASSOLC), CHS AFB as an enlisted man in 2003 serves with Air Force Reserve Command JAG Colonel and US Senator Lindsey Graham with the 315th Airlift Wing, CHS AFB, SC. Despite the difference in rank, they are inseparable.
Both Senator Graham, known in Air Force circles for his closeted homosexuality and Sanford, now accused of hiding a homosexual affair, were brought into the Air Force by Brigadier General Jerry Black who was later fired by President Bush.
Inquires should be made into the former commanders of AFRES and AFRC about how these two high ranking individuals were allowed to transfer from the SC ANG & SC NG around the 9-11 disaster time frame.
It is thought that a C-17 from Charleston may have been rerouted to Buenos Aires while engaged in recovery efforts involving the recent Air France disaster. If this is true, Sanford is the most powerful "airman" in military history! Hiking the Appalachian Trail, mysterious fishing trips, secret "black ops" in Iran, gay weekends in Colorado or zooming to Argentina for a needed "sex break"…Mark Sanford is a virtual cornucopia of deceit.
Only Graham of the 4 organizers of the failed Clinton impreachment has kept his closeted sex life out of the public and judicial eye. Whether Sanford’s liasons were homosexual or heterosexual is not clear as any information on this issue has been released by the same people who have been lying all along.
No evidence has yet been presented tying Sanford’s foreign "mistress" (what do you call a male "mistress"?) to Cuban or Korean intelligence gathering operations and it is likely that Senator Graham will use his influence to continue to keep these threats to national security from the public.
These questions and hundreds more hang over Sanford and his role in the historic 315th Air Lift Command currently operating out of Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina.
Sanford’s secret life is particularly threatening in that, as an "airman" in a highly sensitive C-17 Transport Command and as Governor of a state, Sanford is open to blackmail and any number of foreign intelligence assaults on America’s security.
Sanford has full access, as Governor, to many highly classified homeland security initiatives, making his illicit lifestyle and vulnerability a danger. The Port of Charleston is particularly vulnerable to penetration by terrorists operating in Latin America.
Sanford also controls the Savannah River project nuclear plants (among other nuclear plants in the State of SC) but the Port, Naval Weapons Station and the Naval Brig (GITMO Detainee’s) would constitute a serious threat to a tourist laden historical city. Also Shaw AFB SC another leading military unit in the nation resides in South Carolina.
Putting moral issues aside, a life of lies and "conduct unbecoming" makes him, not only unfit for any office now, but puts any previous acts, while in Congress, in doubt. When did he start lying, leaving the country secretly, who was he meeting with?
Did Sandford use State or US military funds or resources in his globe trotting sex life? How many knew about this?
There is currently no conclusive proof that Sanford was in Argentina. It is possible he may have a second passport there or elsewhere allowing open travel to other warm climes, perhaps Cuba, a popular island destination for Americans with secrets to sell.
No proof of Senator Lindsey Graham’s involvement in Sanfords secret travels has been brought forward nor has any civil or military authority announced any investigation. Much as with the recent revelations involving Senator Ensign’s sexual and financial indiscretions, "life goes on" and high ranking officers and elected officials can retain security clearances no matter how much risk they represent to our security.
We will wait for Sanford and Graham to come up with a woman to pose as Sanford’s mistress in Argentina. This one should be really good.
I hear they have already leaked emails. Do we call this "durable cover" or "plausible deniability?"
I keep forgetting. They will be fun to read. I can imagine some staffer up all night writing, "Oh darling, I miss your lucious red lips and tiny little feet…"
