Goal: Expose military veterans to career opportunities in the electric utility industry through a "boot camp" program to teach trade skills and industry applicable academics to enhance hire-ability.
Objective: Provide a comprehensive developmental program incorporating physical fitness, core utility trade skills, work ethic preparedness, and classroom exposure to applied mathematics and alternative energy science.
Methodology: Conduct a week of core skills and academic programs •Utilize subject matter experts as trainers and guest speakers•Upon successful completion the student will be able to enter the full-time Powerline Mechanic Trainee Program
Academic Curriculum: Powerline History, Alternative Energy, Career Math & Theory, Powerline Athlete and Safety
Technical Curriculum: Crew Groundman/Helper Training, Ropes, Knots, & Rigging, Attitude & Work Ethic. Career Opportunities, Field Safety Training
