Yesterday, at a hard right "Tea Party" here in Virginia where I live, a 52 year old home schooling mom running for the Virginia House of Delegates for the Northern Neck of Virginia called on her constituents to resist ‘Obama’s Agenda’ with bullets if they must. Ummm….errrr…..ahhh…I get the whole Patrick Henry "give me liberty or give me death" thing. After all, he was a Virginian and he was talking about armed revolution against George III and British overlords. But mom, seriously now, aren’t we taking the whole civil disobedience thing a bit too far when we run for office in the State Assembly by calling for armed revolution against a sitting U.S. President who so far has shown himself to be as dangerous to American freedoms as tapioca pudding is? I love your passion mom. But ease up on the cappucino, okay? You make me nervous.
