Soldier Deaths Hit Record High in Afghanistan This Month – Washington Post

Today’s Washington Post has run a fine article on where we are relative to several issues in Afghanistan.  I am not sure what we are doing there, what the mission is, or what constitutes ‘victory’.  The entire drill is a little vague for my liking.  I wish somebody would explain to me exactly what the mission is there.  I cannot see it.  And young people are dying at a pretty high rate.  I don’t see the sense in it.

What is our objective? The story is here.
