A LOOK AT HOW HEALTH CARE WORRIES CONTROL US

Picture yourself where most familes are: One or more members have "pre-existing conditions" that prevent changing health care providers. Two or more family members work but only one has limited health benefits, 59% of familes are like this.
Your health insurance is "at will." This means that your employer can eliminate or cut benefits for any reason unless a union contract prevents it. Few Americans have unions now. If you are still working but with no coverage, you will not qualify for Medicaid. Any major illness will take your savings, your house, college funds, anything.
Worse yet, your husband or wife are covering your insurance. You hate their guts but are stuck under their thumb because you need the insurance. They know it and remind you in unkind ways now and then that you find distressing.
A good friend worked in a family business controlled by his brothers. These were evil suckers, the kind that would have driven Cinderella into a throat cutting rage. With the onset of health problems, being stuck working in a hateful environment just to stay healthy is actually causing more bad health.
You can’t kill them as that is against the law, or so we are told. Instead, you get more depressed, sicker, more digestive problems and eventually a couple of heart attacks set in.
Ever get sick and find the treatment that you need is "disapproved" or "experimental?" This means you are receiving "rationed" health care. This is what insurance companies do.
If you have arthritis, you are told to buy aspirin. If you need a joint replacement, you are told to take tylenol.
If you have cancer, you are told it will go away. Does this happen often? Yup, every damned day.
You are a victim of "health care prison." You may even be "health care executed."
You live in a country where some areas are in total collapse. You know your job is going to go away soon and want to make a move. You can’t sell your house, you have a sick kid and you know that, even if you find a new job and can rent your house to illegal aliens, your new employer won’t be able to cover your kid’s illness.
Do you stay where you are until you become unemployed and look for a bridge to live under when paying medical bills finishes you off?
Look at your own situtation or that of everyone around you. If you are on Medicare, you have it made, sort of. If you are totally broke, you have Medicaid, but you also have no job, no money and a totally worthless car. Riding the bus to the emergency room is not what America is supposed to be about.
If you are a veteran, you are guaranteed health care for life, as long as you are totally disabled and the current president isn’t cutting benefits like the last one did.
The health care you get is great unless, of course, you are actually sick.
If you are sick, you are very likely to be totally screwed.
What do Americans do to keep health care? Years ago, everyone had full health care. A hospital room was 20 bucks a day, not 1500, and employers offered health insurance so they could get the best workers.
Chances are your job could be done by an illegal alien for 2 bucks an hour. They don’t get sick or not that we notice.
Oh wait, they get free care, even if they work. Why do you think millions and millions of them walked past our border guards over the last 50 years? Were you waiting for outraged employers to demand an end to nearly free slave labor?
What I think about are the people I know that have had to live a life where worrying about paying for illness or kissing up to a totally worthless employer was necessary because controlling health care is controlling your life.
The person that can take your insurance away, employer, spouse, evil brother, these are the people who own your ass.
How much crap will someone take to make sure their kid gets treated for leukemia or diabetes? The answer, as much as it takes and it can take alot.
