SIDING AGAINST THEIR OWN CONTINUALLY
UNINFORMED, MISINFORMED, MISLED BUT LOVING IT
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER
Does this describe American veterans? In general, yes, this is correct. Any group or organization that works to help veterans and protect their rights has one big enemy, veterans. If you try to protect a vet from persecution, impoverishment or abuse, a hundred, a thousand veterans will give their lives to stop you.
For every cent, every word written, every lawsuit filed to help veterans and their families, millions of dollars are donated, millions of words written and armies of lawyers, lobbyists and goons, all supported by millions of veterans, and their organizations, will oppose you.
For every liar and thief in government who turns against veterans, a thousand, a million veterans will stand by him cheering him on. This is our history and we are damned by it.
Fighting for veterans requires thick skin and the willingness to ‘go it alone’ with only a few brave and honorable people around you. Every veterans activist will tell you this. Every person who stands up for veterans stands alone.
Veterans, many, most, turn away or pick up the first stone.
Why is this? I really don’t know. Did the military do something to kill intellect or judgement? Are veterans all insane? Veterans can’t be cowards though so many have let those around them down so miserably.
Whether institutionalization or shame or simply lack of horse sense, one mistake is forgiveable but a lifetime of being led around by the nose by politicians, phonies and cardboard heroes is not.
Why are we here?
Unappreciated, even hated.
Seen as trash?
Where are our teeth? Home in a jar?
It ain’t about liberal or conservative. Its about common sense. All that’s needed to get a vet to sell out is for Sam Fox or Boone Pickets to write a check. Ask the Swifties? Lying is one thing, lying for money another, lying about a vet for money is just another day, we see it all the time.
Politics, the idiocy that keeps us amused, is nothing but theatre to keep us at each other’s throats.
Time to move on. We are alone. We are despised. We are considered a useless burden, until time for killing and dying.
Time to ‘smarten up’ a bit.
