90% OF "REPORTED NEWS" IN THE US IS FICTION

90% OF THE REAL NEWS IS UNREPORTED

By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER

Why is health care news, all regarding noisy or violent protest, the biggest news, even during a war?  Better yet, why are news stories about people losing health insurance, massive frauds by pharmaceutical companies and the inability of millions to receive decent care, stories normally reported, suddenly censored from our news?

Recently it was discovered that the Washington Post arranged meetings between rich special interest groups and politicians for pay.  Few people noticed the story or cared.  What if, what if, mind you, most news networks and papers were told what stories to report and what not to or actually were given stories, already written, supplied by what we will generously call "advertising agencies."

Is all American news simply advertising?  What if everything you read or saw is only there because someone has paid for you to see it, paid for it because it helps them somehow.  What kind of help are we talking about?

  • THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY FIXES PRICES FOR TESTS, DRUGS AND TREATMENTS, MARKETS DANGEROUS DRUGS AND DENIES NEEDED CARE TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE
  • "ENERGY COMPANIES" RIG PRICES, DESTROY THE ENVIRONMENT WITH FILTHY COAL AND PAY OFF POLITICIANS BY THE THOUSANDS TO HELP THEM GET AWAY WITH IT
  • "BIG AGRICULTURE" PAYS OFF POLITICANS WHO GIVE AWAY BILLIONS TO CORPORATIONS THAT RIG FOOD PRICES
  • AGRICULTURE AND MANUFACTURING GROUPS MAKE SURE AMERICA IS FLOODED WITH ILLEGAL ALIENS WHO PUSH WAGES DOWN, DESTROY UNIONS AND LIVE OFF TAXPAYER FUNDED HEALTH CARE AND OTHER BENEFITS
  • GAS AND OIL COMPANIES TAKE HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OUT OF OUR ECONOMY THRU PRICE MANIPULATION AND SPECULATION WHILE MOST OF OUR MASSIVE DEFENSE BUDGET IS SPENT TO PROTECT "THEM" FROM OTHERS WHEN ITS REALLY US THAT NEEDS PROTECTION FROM THEM
  • HEROIC POLITICIANS AND "COUNTER-TERRORIST" PUNDITS OPEN FIRMS REPRESENTING NORTH KOREA, IRAN, SUDAN, ZIMBABWE, CUBA, VENEZUELA AND WORSE WITHIN SECONDS OF ENTERING "THE PUBLIC SECTOR"

Our next issue is what is not reported that is real that is news that requires public discussion, investigation, examination and intelligent decision making.  Wait a minute, we examine and discuss nothing.  TV and radio folks do that for us.

Ever wonder why it was so important for Republicans to end bankruptcies?  Millions of Americans went bankrupt since Reagan.  Some of them ran up huge debts, wiped them clean and laughed at hard working Americans that pay their bills.  There must be hundreds like that.

Millions went bankrupt because they had no health insurance or poor health insurance.  The biggest source of lawsuits against working Americans are from hosptials collecting billions from people to cover bills not paid by insurance or not covered.

Here is how hospital billing works.  If you have insurance or are on Medicare or Medicaid, a CAT scan costs about $500 bucks.  Insurance pays most of it, you pay your deductable.

If you are working, self employed and not covered under a "group," the hospital bills you $2000 for the same thing.  You pay $2000 bucks for a $500 buck procedure or you go to court, like millions of Americans.

An emergency room visit with a few stitches that runs up a $400 bill for someone on Medicaid is $1300 for someone who has lost their job and now uninsured.

Thus, our courts are filled with collection lawsuits by hospitals, even more than by credit card companies, collecting money, not from the poor, not from the elderly but from small business owners and working people or folks who have just lost their jobs.

Hosptials and their lawyers have destroyed more families economically than any other factor.  The worst part is that, in most cases, the health care that breaks the families finances is third rate, dumbed down by hospitals who offer substandard care to patients with bad or no insurance.

Bankruptcy is a disaster, a nightmare no decent American should have to face, much less a common practice for millions of Americans who have lost their homes, their cars and their retirement savings to pay for medical bills often charged at 300% of insurance company rates.

When an illegal alien, working in a feed lot of slaughterhouse in Kansas shows up for free health care, who do we blame?  Do we blame a government paid to look the other way while illegal workers walk, thousands at a time, across the border?

Ever wonder why the continual E. coli contamination of beef or other products?  Ever see film of an ICE raid on a packing plant, with busloads of illegals being hauled away and big corporations saying, "illegal aliens, I don’t see no stinking illegal aliens!"

Media millionaires and their huge corprations tell us what to get angry about.  They tell us what is "conspiracy theory" and what is vital to us.  Is talking to the gullible and unstable, as news now does, enough?  They tell us alot but never anything except just enough to keep us at each other’s throats.

A year ago I didn’t know a single person who thought they weren’t being cheated by insurance and drug companies or that their doctor wasn’t trying to kill them.  What changed?

If we motivate an army of zombies, mentally unstable, angry and impressionable to scream and yell, threaten and rant, is that enough public involvement when everyone else can sit home and watch the show on TV?

We can sit on our fat asses and watch war go on for years, even decades.  We can pay for it but live with no rationing, no meatless days, just foreclosures, unemployment checks and sleepless nights.

Who are politicians?  Why do people get involved?  Are all these folks working for so long, all working to make our lives better really very good at it?  They are certainly doing well, in fact better and better every day with pay raises, free insurance and every luxury at their fingertips.  At least someone has benefitted from sacrifice, our politicians and the big shots in our military.

I wake up every day thankful for their sacrifice.  Avoiding letters, phone calls and email from people whose lives are destroyed by bad government can be very stressful for anyone.  None of us could do a job like that, not without having a breakdown of some kind or an occasional rational moment.

Our kids can always join the Air Force or Navy.  How many slots available there?  10 million?  That’s how many unemployed kids we have now.  They can all be jet mechanics or pilots or cryptoanalysts or something.

What is news?  We know our schools can’t afford band or sports or even books.  That’s ok, we can pass a new bond issue and borrow the money.  Anyone want to buy those bonds?  Buy them with what?

Drive past a mall, parking lot full?  Drive past a factory, parking lot empty?  Who says credit cards aren’t a good thing?

When did everything get to be about what others tell us?  When did government start running our lives, not just a little bit but now they are supposed to give us everything?  I don’t know half a dozen people who don’t life off government checks.

What was it a couple of years ago?  Wasn’t Bush going to have the UPS guy and meter readers looking in our windows to see if we had guns or were making pipe bombs.

Remember the newspapers?  "Condition Orange:  moderate to light terrorist activity today, partly terroristic tomorrow, clearing by the weekend."

Why do I have to take my shoes off to get on a plane when nearly every airport employee is a single Islamic male between 20 and 40?  I don’t want a box cutter smuggled onto a plane, just decent food.

Most Americans forget, but the biggest public relations war of our last 100 years involved smoking.  For decades people claiming cigarettes caused cancer were "conspiracy theorists."  Then they started calling them "liberals."

According to most Republicans and the few remaining Dems from the South, studies showing tobacco to be "unhealthful" lack "conclusory proof."

Now healthcare companies are trying to tell me they haven’t been screwing America with price fixing, treatment denial and "dumber than crap" doctors for decades.  Every time I get a prescription for something, I look it up.  Then I call the doctor, its always the same.  "It says here that if I take this it’s going to kill me!"

The answer is always the same.  "Oops."

Isn’t one of the most overused terms in the language, "Your insurance doesn’t cover that."  I have heard this dozens of times.  Now, with new national health insurance, even people without insurance will be able to be told the same thing?  Is this bad?

If we are talking about Afghanistan and health care, what does this tell us?  To me, paranoid as I am, it means we are being screwed some place else and all of this is cover.  Is it the financial scams?  Is there anything left to steal?

Maybe its the organ harvesting scandal.  Is the government planning to take a kidney from all of us?  Since we are told that kidney transplants aren’t done anywhere except for the rich, how did some many rich people screw up their kidneys?

Does this mean staying poor is healthy?

I may be safe after all.
