Taiwan's Ex-President Awarded Life in Prison for Graft – A.P.

The Associated Press reports today the the ex-President of Taiwan, Chen Shui-Bian, has just been awarded life in prison for graft by a Taiwanese court.  We have a lot to learn from Taiwan and also Korea which presently holds two former Presidents in prison for crimes.  Why are these young Asian democracies leading the way for us to hold our leaders responsible for crimes in office?  Why are they teaching us what accountability to public service is all about?

Today is 9-11-09 and it is the anniversary of the attacks on our nation by crazed Islamists who are believing Wahabists  who had an agenda that we are still not completely clear about.  Our president at the time clearly used those attacks to further a militant, military industrial complex friendly set of responses that bled our national treasury almost dry of expendable resources.  Thousands of Americans and Asians have died based on his decision matrix.  He either lied or was completely duped about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which was the reason for that war.  He got us into Afghanistan to find the Taliban, who are apparent allies of the Wahabists group Al Qaeda, who apparently waged war on us via training camps run by the Taliban in Afghanistan.  At least that is the story.

This all needs to be investigated and if it is found that this president committed criminal acts, he must at least serve time in prison….just like the President of Taiwan is going to do for life.
