Star Studded Benefit to help Disfigured War Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan Wars

The Iraq Star 2009 Fundraiser will be held on October 4th, 2009 at the Hilton Universal Hotel, Universal City (L.A.) CA. 

The event benefits the Iraq Star Foundation, a non for profit VSO that provides Free Reconstructive Surgery for Wounded and Disfigured American Warriors of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.  The mission of the Iraq Star Foundation is preventing wounds of war from permanently disfiguring young lives.

Celebrity Supporters including Tom Selleck, Jon Voight, Kristy Swanson, Kevin Sorbo, Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Baldwin, Angie Everhart, Marla Maples, Katherine McPhee, Angie Harmon, Scott Baio, Tom Dreeson, John Ratzenberger and more will be in attendance.

     

The guest of honor will be the Gary Sinise.  A movie and TV from Forest Gump to TV’s CSI New York, Gary’s unparalled committment to our troops as well as the children of Iraq is well documented and distinguised.

This will be a major Red Carpet affair with cocktails, dinner, live, and silent acution and headline entertainment.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER:  Maggie Lockridge, R.N. was born and raised in Springfield Vermont.  Upon completion of her nurse’s training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing in Boston MA, she worked in New York city at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital.

maggiepressshotbw_400In 1966, Maggie joined the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corps and spent her active duty in Grand Forks N.D..  Her marriage to Air Force fighter pilot was blessed with two children.

A move to Los Angeles in 1987 created new avenues of nursing.  She was owner and administrator of Shanteque, a recovery retreat for patients undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures. 

For 18 years, Maggie cultivated working relationships with the finest cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons in the world right there in Beverly Hills.  Over this period, she ministered to the care of over 40,000 recuperating guests.

Maggie brings this experience and surgeon affiliation to Iraq Star.  Her vast knowledge of reconstructive, plastic, and cosmetic surgical procedures enables her to assist disfigured veterans.

She’s also author the book FACELIFT HOTEL.  All sales from the book go to the Iraq Star Foundation.
