David Brooks has written an editorial in today’s New York Times called "The Afghan Imperative". He is a smart guy, very conservative and well read. I just don’ agree with him.
The American Legion, of which I am a member believe it or not, has come out officially and supported more troops for Afghanistan. The news release is here. I will simply stay silent.

In today’s Washington Post there is an article telling us that Iran has a second uranium enrichment site. The International Atomic Energy Agency is concerned. So am I.
The Obama Administration is making herculian efforts to close the GTMO detention center in Cuba despite resistance from Congress. The story is here. Who would have thought closing down a federal detention center with no real basis or precedent in American law to be so difficult?
