Here is an official press release of interest to all veterans from Senator Jim Webb’s office (D-Va). Webb is a former Secretary of the Navy in a GOP administration, a Marine platoon commander from the iet Nam war and a no nonsense force for the truth here in Virginia.
The press release is all too familiar in many respects to what we have seen before. The congress is investigating high ranking battlefield officers for forcing political considerations on the platoon commander in question which put his platoon in great danger. The young officer complained twice about the political ramifications of the orders that he was given placing his platoon in danger. He was ignored and an Army investigation cleared the high ranking officers of any wrong doing.
