Mr. Obama’s Promise of Transparency

In today’s New York Times there is a short editorial that is very important for all veterans to read and understand.  It seems that the Obama who was the presidential candidate spoke incessantly for the need for open government, for citizen access to all decision making processes, for transparency in all ways and means that the government conducts business. That Obama taked about a new beginning.

Obama the President is now taking steps to radically alter that view.  The article is here.

This is crucial.  We must force Obama the President to be the same guy with the same core values that he was as Obama the candidate.  There will be no changing horses in mid-stream.  No!

This man was elected for many reasons, practically all of them having to do with the reintroduction of open and transparent government and government operations within the mechanism of governing this federal republic.  It must happen.  Now.

Americans have had enough of back room deals where thousands of the super elites with their high level government connections make millions and millions of dollars in the war industries and energy cartels over the broken lives and dead bodies of American soldiers sent to foreign wars for reasons that are either lies, partial lies or so foggy that they make no sense to anyone outside of the inner circles of American power.

Main Street is not sacrificing its kids anymore for Wall Street, not if it has any reasoning ability left.  Not if I have anything to do with it.  Not if Obama keeps his campaign promises.

This has gotten so far out of hand that the typical American does not know how to feel about this. This is surreal. Obama the supposed Socialist has morphed into Obama the right wing Republican faster than my grand daughter can eat an ice cream cone. What the hell happened?

And it does not end here.  The elites were making back room deals with each other for hundreds of millions of dollars as our economic version of the Burning of Rome was going on last Fall under the Bushites.

Here is an article outlining the Treasury Department’s Inspector Generals report on "odd" payments to the nation’s biggest banks during last Fall’s "bailout fest" that seemed to only include the already powerful in this country. Here is a piece of that article:

"The inspector general who oversees the government’s bailout of the banking system is criticizing the Treasury Department for some misleading public statements last fall and raising the possibility that it had unfairly disbursed money to the biggest banks."

Go ahead, tell me you are not shocked.  I am not either.
