Well, apparently the President has issued marching orders for more troops in Afghanistan as of Sunday night.
The Washington Post is reporting in an article entitled Obama informs advisers of Afghan war strategy. It is all over but the shouting for those of us who are against escalation in Afghanistan and want a pullout.
His presidency will never hold the same promise with left wing Democrats now. His presidency has entered a strange phase where a sitting President is at odds with a huge slice of his own party. That is never good. More to be revealed tomorrow night I am sure.
And apparently for completely different reasons, the Arab World is losing faith in Obama. That story, The deflated Arab hopes for Obama speaks to this predicament.

On this eve of what is going to be a very strange day in this town of Washington D.C. lets look at some odd news. So lets look at some strange and weird news that we should take seriously as involved citizens and informed veterans who are conversant with the problems of the modern world.
First up, lets look at climate change. It has obvious national defense implications.
Is it real, is it hype, is it skewed science so that the Left can hit the Right over the head with guilt over carbon emissions coming from irresponsible manufacturing practices? Take your pick. But one thing is for sure, ice is melting all over the world. Glaciers seem to be generally receding and ice packs in both the Arctic and Antarctic are melting at dangerously high levels.
Now, here is the conundrum. As the planet warms and more and more fresh water empties into the oceans we are actually approaching the failsafe danger point where an Ice Age starts!
As strange as this sounds, the warmer the planet gets, the more planetary ice melts, more fresh cold water empties into the oceans which in turn shuts off the various dozens of "Gulf Stream" currents that carry warm water up to the Poles all around the Globe.
Very , very quickly the entire planet becomes ice encased? How quickly? Six months.

This has obvious national and international security implications. For this reason I am now claiming that "going green" is essential to our national defense needs. We really need to see non-carbon based energy consumption as a national security issue and this article explains why that is.

Well, tomorrow night’s speech at West Point is apparently going to be an anti-climax. Presidential orders to send troops to Afghanistan have already gone out to the commanders according to the Post.
Goodbye relatively peaceful Democratic Party. We are all going to see some very, very strange politics in this nation for years to come from this point forward. That is a given now.
