More than 1000 troops haveIn an article entitled Gates: US in Afghanistan for 2 to 4 Years the Associated Press has just released minutes ago, there is information detailing talking points that Secretary of Defense Gates has given to the Sunday Talk Shows. The title of the piece says it all.

Why am I not surprised?

In another report by the A.P. that was released just about two hours ago entitled Obama aide cites al-Qaida leader in Afghanistan it is clear that the U.S. is telling a confused story concerning what it knows about Osama Bin Laden and his whereabouts. If this is real information then we are not very good at intelligence gathering on this subject. If this is not true, we are lousy liars because fewer and fewer people in the West believe he is alive.  Almost no one in the Middle East believes that he still lives.

More to follow I am sure.
