The official Avatar websiteIn today’s Washington Post we read an article entitled `Avatar’ rules with $68.3M, tops $1B worldwide. It is an anti-war film by James Cameron specifically aimed at our roles in Iraq and Afghanistan. As such, it is compelling and will stay with you for many days after you leave the theater. The special effects are mind-numbing. I have one word for them. Wow !!!

If you are over 45 get to the lavatory as you enter the theater. The film itself is 160 mintues long and with trailers you will be sitting there for three and a half hours. For a guy with an overactive bladder it can be an act of great courage and endurance, but it is worth every minute of pain to see the political statements being made. How come we can only tell the truth in thinly veiled sci-fi movies about the state of our national soul? This is a must see for anyone worried that we are on our way to a fascist state.
