The Mexico Real Estate market is still recovering so that means foreigners are finding fantastic deals on property in resort areas.

Since 2004 Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and the Riviera Maya in Mexico have been considered one of the fastest growing areas in the world for real estate. In the past year the Mexico real estate market has seen a decrease because of many factors but mainly the slowing economy in the United States and Canada. Because of this a project in Puerto Morelos, Mexico has surfaced allowing foreigners to get in at very low cost with no risk. The investors that take advantage of this opportunity early stand to gain the best return on their Mexico real estate investment.

mexicoPuerto Morelos, Mexico, January 7, 2010 – There is an area between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico called Puerto Morelos. It is a small village of less than 2,000 people known mostly for fishing. In the town you will a few stores, restaurants, and some fruit stands. This is an area that is mostly overlooked or passed by on the way to Playa Del Carmen.

Just North of Puerto Morelos there is a private subdivision of homes. The homes were built by a private Cancun developer for Mexican people and until now has only been marketed to them in Spanish. Due to the slow market last year the developer has agreed to release blocks of homes to foreign investors.

This is great news for foreigners looking for a 2nd home or vacation home. The developer released these homes to a local realty company giving them the exclusive sales contract. Cheap Mexico real estate is now able to offer homes to U.S., Canadian, European, and other foreigners. The best part about this is the price. Nearly anyone can afford to own one or more of these homes. The price is only $39,500USD + $5500usd for closing costs. The homes are 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with 688 sq. feet. All have good title and utilities including phone lines. It is just across highway 307 near Puerto Morelos and the famous Crococun Zoo. Incredibly it is less than a 12 minute drive from the Cancun airport and 5 minutes to a beautiful beach. Homeowners may add additional construction to the rear of the home and/or a 2nd level. the front of the home can also be customized with a porch or a gate, etc.

U.S. Veteran Bill Mabra of Cheap Mexico real estate states, "what a crazy idea to think that in 2010 it is still possible for folks to purchase a 2 bed 1 bath vacation home this close to everything for under $50,000usd. This is less than some people pay for their car or truck.”

With real estate obviously it is always about location. How about owning a home for about $45,000USD with closing costs that you can access the airport, the beach and both Cancun and Playa Del Carmen so easily. To get an idea of how far your money still goes in Mexico just visit this Mexico real estate video walk through of the property. Mabra continues, "just like anything else the sooner someone jumps on this the better selection, price, and location they have." The general opinion from the real estate community in Puerto Morelos is that these homes will not be available long at such an affordable price."
