Defense Spending: $700 Billion a Year and We’re Still Not Safe

Politics Daily has a fine article entitled Defense Spending: $700 Billion a Year and We’re Still Not Safe that pretty much says it all.  I wish I had written this piece.  This is gritty American wisdom at its best.

What is it going to take for reason to return to our national mindset and for us to cut our defense budget in half in order to keep our republic from disintegrating under our feet?  How much education deterioration and infrastructure destruction has to occur in this country before we start worrying more about butter than guns?  When are we going to start thinking of our children and grand children and stop spending their futures on needless defense boondoggles?  When will sanity return to our people? We cannot “war” our way to prosperity.
